About Behind the Decks
Every set is built on a foundation of technical preparation, not just guesswork. Before I step behind the Pioneer console, I spend 45 to 90 minutes checking acoustics and levels with the venue’s sound system to ensure the audio is crisp. When you see me in these photos, I am not just mixing; I am calibrating the room to ensure the transition from background lounge to peak-time dance floor is seamless.
This is my natural habitat. The photos here show the reality of my process—it is intense, focused, and always driven by the goal of creating nalla samayangalil (good times). Whether I am playing at a rooftop sundowner or a high-energy club night, the approach remains the same. I focus on reading the room. If the crowd needs a steady pulse, I lean into Melodic Techno and Afro House. If the energy is peaking, I shift to Tech House or high-tempo commercial sets.
Technical reliability is non-negotiable. I use industry-standard Pioneer gear because I need to know that when I make a transition, the sound will be clean and impactful. I do not rely on pre-recorded mixes. Every beat match is done live, responding to the specific energy of your guests.
I treat every event—be it a corporate gala or a private birthday bash—as a live performance. This means I come prepared with backup equipment, tailored playlists, and a commitment to maintaining the flow from the first song to the final track. You get a DJ who is fully invested in the music, not just someone standing behind a console.
