Behind the Decks: My Live Mixing Process
This is my office. See how I read the crowd, sync with my VJ, and build the energy that keeps the dance floor packed all night.
A moment of calm before the storm. A smile for the camera, but my mind is on the music and the crowd. Forever grateful to be doing what I love.
Locked in. This is me completely focused on the mix, making sure every transition is seamless and every beat hits right. The music does the talking.
The energy is building. In this moment, I'm signaling to the crowd, getting them ready for the drop. It's all about that interaction.
Peace and good vibes from the DJ booth. A quick pose for the camera while keeping the party going at Hammerzz.
A candid shot from the side, with a laser cutting through the darkness. This captures the focused, intense environment of the DJ booth during a live set.
In the zone at Club Iguana. The background visuals and the blue lighting create a cool, focused atmosphere while I line up the next track.
A happy moment behind the decks at Glitte. When the crowd is vibing and the music is flowing, there's no better feeling.
On the mic, talking to the crowd. I believe a DJ should be more than a music player; I'm a host, an MC, and the life of the party.
Lost in the music. This is a candid moment of me on the mic, feeling the track and sharing that emotion with everyone on the dance floor.
Focused and working in sync with my VJ. We work as a team to ensure the visuals on the screen match the energy of my music perfectly.
About Behind the Decks
Being a DJ is about more than just hitting play. When you look at my booth, you’ll see the focus—syncing with my VJ, reading the room, and managing the transitions between Bolly-Afro mashups and high-energy Tech House. It is a constant, two-way interaction, not just a pre-planned set list.
The photos you see here capture exactly what happens when I'm locked into a set. Whether I am playing at a club like Shiloh or a festival, my process remains the same.
The Gear and The Craft
Reliability is non-negotiable. I rely on industry-standard Pioneer CDJ NXS2 or 3000 setups because they allow me to manipulate my exclusive edits and mashups in real-time. If you are hiring me for an event, this technical foundation is what ensures the sound is punchy, the bass is heavy, and the transitions are seamless.
More Than Just Music
I am not the type of DJ who stands silently behind the console. I am an MC and a host. I’m on the mic, cracking jokes, hyping the crowd, and giving shout-outs. My goal is to make every guest feel seen. When you see me in these shots talking to the crowd, I am gauging the energy level—if the floor is slowing down, I switch gears instantly to something faster, maybe a Punjabi-Afro edit to get everyone moving again.
VJ Synergy
I often work with a VJ because a live set is a visual experience too. We coordinate in real-time—when I drop a heavy beat, the visuals hit at the same time. This teamwork is what turns a regular party into an immersive event. If you want this kind of impact for your sangeet or private party, let's chat about what your venue needs.
