About The Craft: My Sound & Technique
When I am on the decks, it is not just about hitting play. I spend hours digging for the right tracks and understanding the technical difference between signal paths, like line versus phono inputs, to ensure the sound quality is crisp before a single beat drops.
My Sound Philosophy
I do not believe in hitting play on a pre-recorded mix. Whether I am playing a deep, driving Melodic Techno track or an Organic House rhythm, I build my sets to tell a story. You will notice in my track breakdowns that I prioritize the progression of a set. It is about selecting the right sound for the specific time of day or the mood of the crowd, not just chasing the drop.
Technical Precision
My setup revolves around industry-standard Pioneer DJ gear. Understanding the signal flow—knowing exactly why we use phono for analog turntables versus line for digital players—is a fundamental part of the craft. That technical foundation allows me to focus entirely on reading the room without worrying about the equipment. When I show up to your venue, I am prepared to connect seamlessly with any sound system.
Sharing the Knowledge
Beyond the performance, I am faculty at The Music School. Teaching the next generation of DJs keeps my own skills sharp and forces me to articulate why a transition works or how to EQ properly. I am constantly refining my mixing techniques, and I bring that same dedication to every event I play.
