About Behind The Decks & The DJ Life
You will notice my gear setup is always front and center, whether I am at a rooftop in Bangalore or a private club gig. I use professional controllers that allow for real-time remixing, so every beat you hear is being tweaked live. I do not just hit play; I am constantly adjusting loops and layering mashups to match the specific energy of the room.
When you see me behind the decks, you are looking at the result of over two decades of reading crowds. My 'Nashty Beats' are not just a playlist; they are custom edits and mashups I produce to make sure the music feels fresh even if the track is a decade old.
The Setup Reality
I prefer equipment that lets me interact with the music rather than just the laptop. Whether it is a Pioneer controller setup at a house party or industry-standard CDJs at a large gala, my performance style relies on seamless transitions. This is why I always check the technical rider with the venue or client beforehand. I need to know that the sound system can handle the bass-heavy requirements of Afro House and Tech House sets.
The Performance Grind
Being a DJ is as much about managing the room's temperature as it is about the music. If the dance floor is lagging, I switch to classic throwbacks or Punjabi anthems to reignite the energy. I handle everything from light MC duties to keeping the volume levels consistent for rooftop sunsets or high-intensity night sets. If you are looking for someone who brings their own energy and doesn't rely on pre-recorded mixes, this is exactly what you get when you hire me. I am there to make sure the party stays on track from the first song to the last.
