Poetry off the stage and onto the pavement. We wander through local gardens and city streets, using the environment as our prompt to help you find and write your own verse.

An announcement for 'The Road Not Taken', a poetry writing walk-workshop through the streets of Delhi. We use prompts and activities to capture the here and now.

Another iteration of 'The Road Taken' walk. The dream is to map the city with poems, leaving little flags of verse as memory.

Bringing the collective practice of poetry writing to public spaces. These walks are for anyone, from seasoned poets to the simply curious, to compose poetry of everyday life.

A poetry walk inspired by Rilke's 'Letters to a Young Poet'. We use his enduring wisdom on art and life as our guide while walking through the serenity of Lodhi Gardens.

This poetry writing walk uses the work of Mary Oliver, Emily Dickinson, and Ocean Vuong as prompts. It's an invitation to enter their worlds through a walk in nature.

'The Marginal Gods', a poetry walk using the prose of Nobel laureate Annie Ernaux as prompts. We started at Lodhi Gardens and ended at Alliance Française, blending nature with profound literature.

A version of 'The Marginal Gods' walk inspired by the poetry of Agha Shahid Ali, Sylvia Plath, and Rainer Maria Rilke. A space to immerse in nature and our own stories.

This walk, 'The Marginal Gods', drew from the works of Allen Ginsberg, Lucille Clifton, and Dylan Thomas to help us connect with nature, craft, and memory.

An alternative poster for 'The Marginal Gods' walk, featuring Dylan Thomas. Each walk is a unique invitation to let your inner world go leash-free through poetry.

Featuring Lucille Clifton, this poster for 'The Marginal Gods' highlights the diverse voices we draw from to inspire our writing in nature.

About Poetry Walks: Writing with the City & Nature

In these 2.5-hour sessions, we skip the classroom rules and focus on the act of observing. I provide printed prompts and a gentle structure, guiding you through green spaces like Lodhi Gardens or Sunder Nursery. You will walk, reflect, and write, leaving the session with at least one original poem that captures the moment, crafted in the quiet company of a small group.

i believe poetry is an embodied experience. my walks are about creating the right conditions for a poem to appear, rather than teaching technical theory. whether we are reading mary oliver in a forest or reflecting on rilke amidst city architecture, the goal is to get poetry out of our heads and onto the page.

what to expect

each walk is kept small, usually between 7 and 15 people, to ensure you have the quiet space to write and share. we typically spend the first part of the session tuning into our surroundings through sensory prompts, and the latter half drafting. you do not need to be a 'writer' to join—the only requirement is a curiosity to notice the world differently. all stationery and printed materials are provided.

our locations

we regularly host these walks in delhi's most peaceful public spaces, including lodhi gardens, sunder nursery, and sanjay van. these locations provide the silence and texture needed for reflection. for those looking for a different pace, we also curate indoor sessions at partner cafes and cultural spots across delhi ncr and bengaluru.
