Poems for Strangers: Handcrafted Typewriter Poetry
I turn your silence, stories, and secret hopes into poetry, one key strike at a time. Whether we meet at a bustling park or a quiet event, let’s capture your moment on paper.

About Poems for Strangers: The Typewriter Series
When you approach my typewriter, there is no pressure to perform or be eloquent. You simply tell me what is on your mind—a memory, a fleeting feeling, or a quiet thought—and I listen. We do not need hours to connect. I just need to catch the pulse of your story, and I write it down right in front of you. The result is raw, immediate, and entirely yours to keep.
Why a Typewriter?
In a world of screens and instant deletes, the typewriter is an act of commitment. There is no backspace. Every mistake, every hesitation, and every correction is visible on the page. It makes the poetry real and grounded. My practice of writing 'pyaar ki chitthi' (love letters) for strangers started in Cubbon Park, but it has evolved into a way to bridge gaps between people at festivals, weddings, and brand launches.
What Happens at an Event
When I bring my typewriter to your event, I am not just a performer; I am an observer. I set up a space where guests can pause for a few minutes. Whether it is a corporate gala or an intimate art gallery opening, I focus on the individual. I have written 58 poems in 3 days at The Lil Flea, each one a unique response to a stranger's story. If you book me for an event, we create a corner of stillness where people feel seen.
My Philosophy on Expression
I believe we all have a 'right to express.' My workshops and sessions are designed for those who feel blocked or overwhelmed by the noise of digital life. I don't follow rigid templates because human emotion doesn't fit into a box. If you are looking for an experience that moves people and sparks genuine conversation, I am here to help you articulate the inarticulate.
Ruby Naaz
I am Ruby, a poet who finds stories in the chaos of everyday life. I don't believe in perfectly polished lines; I believe in words that actually bleed from the heart. If you are looking for someone to hold space for your truth and turn it into something you can hold in your hands, I am here. XOXO, RN 💋
