I host small poetry gatherings in different Delhi spaces where we read, share, and talk about poems together without any pressure or formality.

About

For me, poetry isn’t just words - it’s alive, messy, and best felt in the room with others. I like pulling poetry down from its high shelf and letting it breathe among us. The vibe is not about showing off, more about showing up and being real with each other. Sometimes the words hit hard, sometimes they just drift by, but always, they help us connect.

How the Salons Work

Picture a chill room, dhoop ki khushboo (scent of sunlight), and voices rolling out lines of poetry. That’s the scene. I keep things small and warm, around 15 people, so nobody fades into the background. We take turns reading, sharing thoughts, and just sitting with whatever comes up. No analysis overload, no pressure to perform. It’s more a spoken word community than a formal event.

Different Flavors

  • Sometimes it’s just us, reading and talking.
  • Other times, poetry steps out for a cause - we gather to protest, support, or fundraise, following the path set by resistance poets. When we do this, all the money raised goes straight to the cause.
  • I also love mixing things up: teaming up with musicians, artists, or cultural folks. Like, we once did a trilingual musical reading of "The Prophet" - wild experience.

Spaces & Delhi Vibes

No permanent venue - I move around Delhi-NCR, picking bookshops, galleries, or wherever feels right. Delhi is my muse, and every gathering is a nod to its tangled stories. As Ghalib put it, "na suna jaega ham se ye fasana hargiz" (I just can't bear to hear this tale) - but maybe together, we can listen.

My Story

Hi, I’m Rachit, the one behind Dillipoetry. I just wanted poetry to get off the stage, into our bones, into Delhi’s air. Two years back, I started Lyrical Walks—felt poetry with feet and heart, not just words. For me, poetry is a portal: climate, queerness, identity, resistance, all tangled in verse. My words travel, but the real magic? It’s in small circles, forest walks, blank pages dented by real people, one poem at a time.

My Work

Poetic Healing Forest Walks - We wander together, letting poetry grow in the wild, feeling each word in our bodies.

Immersive Poetry Workshops - No teaching, just making space for poems to show up. Prompts, nature, and deep reflection guide us.

Intimate Poetry Salons & Literary Performances - Small gatherings, honest sharing, curated readings—where verse meets life, no filters.

Open to All - Queer, curious, artist, beginner—doesn’t matter. If poetry feels alive to you, you belong here.
