For me, poetry isn’t just words - it’s alive, messy, and best felt in the room with others. I like pulling poetry down from its high shelf and letting it breathe among us. The vibe is not about showing off, more about showing up and being real with each other. Sometimes the words hit hard, sometimes they just drift by, but always, they help us connect.
Picture a chill room, dhoop ki khushboo (scent of sunlight), and voices rolling out lines of poetry. That’s the scene. I keep things small and warm, around 15 people, so nobody fades into the background. We take turns reading, sharing thoughts, and just sitting with whatever comes up. No analysis overload, no pressure to perform. It’s more a spoken word community than a formal event.
No permanent venue - I move around Delhi-NCR, picking bookshops, galleries, or wherever feels right. Delhi is my muse, and every gathering is a nod to its tangled stories. As Ghalib put it, "na suna jaega ham se ye fasana hargiz" (I just can't bear to hear this tale) - but maybe together, we can listen.
