Floral & Animal Paintings by Debolina
From soft watercolor petals to vibrant acrylic wildlife, I paint the beauty of the natural world on paper and wood. Let's capture your favorite creatures or blooms.
A vibrant macaw painted with acrylics on a wood panel. I love the rich, opaque colors of acrylics, which create a beautiful contrast with the natural wood grain.
A work-in-progress shot of the acrylic macaw painting. This image shows the layering process, building up colors and details to bring the bird to life.
A short video showing the final touches being added to the acrylic macaw painting. The process of creating art is a journey, and it's important to trust it.
A watercolor painting of a ginger cat sitting by a window, its shadow cast on the wall. After watching hundreds of cat reels, I was inspired to paint this quiet, contemplative moment.
The finished cat painting displayed on my easel. The warm sunlight from the window adds a lovely glow to the scene, highlighting the cat's soft fur.
A festive watercolor painting of a bunny surrounded by flowers, created for Easter. I love using my sketchbook to create these small, joyful pieces for special occasions.
When there are fresh flowers in the house, I can't resist painting them. This watercolor still life captures a beautiful bouquet in a vase, painted from life in my studio.
This framed floral watercolor found a new home. It brings me so much happiness to know that my art is spreading joy and brightening up someone's space.
A simple watercolor floral painted on handmade paper, created as a card for Rakhi. Handmade art is a wonderful way to send love on special occasions.
A festive video showing the process of painting a Christmas-themed watercolor of a cute deer. Getting into the holiday spirit with art is one of my favorite things to do.
About Nature's Palette: Florals & Fauna
Whether it's a pet portrait or a floral still life, I switch mediums to match the energy of the subject. I prefer watercolors on archival Arches paper for that soft, fluid look seen in my cat paintings, while acrylics on wood panels give me the rich, opaque texture needed for vibrant wildlife. Let me know what you have in mind and we can choose the best style together.
Choosing Your Medium
When you commission a nature piece, the medium changes the feel of the art.
- Watercolors: I use these for delicate, soft subjects like florals or pets. Because I use professional-grade Mijello Mission pigments on 300GSM Arches paper, the colors stay vibrant and the paper doesn't buckle.
- Acrylics: For more intense subjects, like the macaw or other wildlife, I use heavy-body acrylics on wood panels. This allows for rich, opaque layers that pop off the surface. It’s perfect for pieces that need a bit more durability and texture.
The Process
Everything starts with a conversation. You share the photo or the idea—maybe it's your ginger cat by the window or a bouquet from your garden—and we decide on the best composition. I send updates as I work, so you feel connected to the process. If it's a gift or a specific decor piece, I ensure it's packed securely in rigid mailers, so it arrives ready to be framed or displayed.
My Philosophy
To me, painting nature is about finding 'sukoon' (peace). Whether I am sketching a bunny during my son's nap or finishing a floral commission, the goal is to bring a slice of the outside world into your home. My work is not about filling space but adding a touch of life to your walls. I am based in Bengaluru and ship these pieces across India, safely and carefully.
