Modern Living & Lounge Room Designs
Your living room should be where you kick back and feel like yourself. Whether it’s a moody, cozy den for movies or a bright, open space for guests, I create rooms that balance personality with total comfort.
I call this the "hygge" corner. With its plush sofa, warm lighting, and cozy throws, it’s the perfect spot to curl up with a cup of hot chocolate on a rainy day.
A wide view of a contemporary living room in a Mulund home. We used a mix of leather and fabric sofas, a sleek TV unit, and layered lighting to create a space that's perfect for entertaining.
This living room is all about handmade craft. The floating concrete-finish sofa base, custom artwork, and unique rug come together to create a space that feels truly one-of-a-kind.
A pop of color can bring so much joy to a room. In this living space, a bold red sofa is balanced by a neutral beige palette, creating a look that is both vibrant and inviting.
For this lounge room, the brief was "moody but fun." We achieved this with rich green hexagonal floor tiles from Bharat Floorings and dark wood paneling, creating a cozy den-like feel.
In this dining area, the design is intentionally simple to let food and conversation be the focus. The sleek table and neutral chairs are set against a clean canvas, punctuated by a single piece of art.
I call this visual poetry. The abstract artwork, custom bench seating, and sculptural dining table create a scene that is impactful yet calming, perfect for shared meals.
This contemporary TV unit is all about clean lines and a touch of glam. I designed it with seamless, hidden storage to keep wires and clutter out of sight, and added brass accents for warmth.
I love when clients say yes to black! Here, a black veneer door and mint green walls create a sophisticated entrance foyer, with custom art cleverly hiding the distribution board.
This shot shows how we can completely change a space without structural work. We hid the door with seamless paneling and upcycled the existing credenza to create a clean, warm, and modern entryway.
About Living & Lounge Spaces
I don't just drop furniture into a room. My process for living spaces starts with how you actually live—where you keep your remotes, where you put your feet up, and how the light hits your sofa at 6 PM. If you see clean lines in my photos, it's because I spend hours figuring out how to hide the wires, turn distribution boards into art, and make your storage completely invisible.
For me, the lounge is the heart of the home, not just a place to keep a TV. I lean heavily into modern wabi-sabi principles—finding beauty in the imperfect and keeping things grounded. Whether we are using raw concrete finishes, warm wood veneers, or rich, moody green tiles from Bharat Floorings, the goal is always the same: a space that feels like a deep breath.
The Living Room Checklist
When we plan your space, we look at three things that actually matter:
- Lighting: It isn't just about overhead bulbs. I layer task lighting for reading and warm ambient light for when you want to relax. Watch how the mood of a room shifts entirely with the right color temperature.
- Storage: In Mumbai apartments, space is a luxury. I design custom consoles and floor-to-ceiling units that keep your clutter out of sight, so the room feels open and calm.
- The 'Huggable' Factor: I am obsessed with textures. From the feel of the sofa fabric to the layers of throws and cushions, I want every corner of your room to feel inviting.
If you have a space that feels a bit disconnected or just needs a refresh, we can look at layout changes or aesthetic overhauls. Let's make your home feel like your own personal sanctuary.
