Inviting Living & Family Room Designs
Your living room should be more than just a place to house a television. Whether you need a cozy, tech-free reading corner or a spacious area for family gatherings, I design living spaces that reflect how you actually live.
The entryway of the Modern Spanish Home makes a statement from the moment you walk in. I designed these giant black iron and glass bi-fold doors to separate the living and family rooms, creating privacy without closing off the space entirely.
A view of the family room, centered around the custom Spanish-style fireplace. A large sectional sofa provides plenty of seating for movie nights, while the gallery wall of family photos makes the space feel deeply personal.
This angle of the living room shows the interplay of light and texture. The natural light from the large window highlights the different materials in the room, from the jute rug and rattan stool to the soft linen sofa and terracotta planter.
This living room is designed to be a tranquil oasis. The soothing color palette, plush cushions, and abundance of green plants create a sanctuary for unwinding and relaxation. The pop of blue from the sofa adds a touch of sophisticated color.
Details matter. I added this gentle archway between the foyer and living area to echo the Spanish architecture of the house. The framed rug on the wall adds texture, while the mix of patterns in the cushions creates a calm and collected feel.
A close-up of the styling in the family room. The round coffee table with a caned insert, layered rugs, and a comfortable cane lounge chair all contribute to the warm, textured, and lived-in feel of this modern Spanish home.
I love a long shot that gives you a sense of the overall space. From this corner of the Breeze Home living room, you can see glimpses of the dining area, the powder blue kitchen, and even the moody guest bathroom, showing how all the spaces flow together.
About this collection
One of the biggest challenges I tackle in living rooms is finding the right balance between comfort and flow. If you are tired of seeing a giant screen as the room's main focus, we can build custom horizontal cabinetry—like our moody blue bookcases—that keeps your books and art on display instead of electronics, making the room feel lived-in and intentional.
Designing a living room is rarely just about picking the right sofa. It is about how the light hits the floor at 4 PM, how the traffic flows from the foyer, and where you naturally want to sit down with a cup of coffee.
My approach to living and family room interior design in Bengaluru focuses on reclaiming space for your actual lifestyle. If you want a reading room, we focus on lighting and comfortable armchairs. If you need a family hub, we prioritize durable textiles and a layout that encourages conversation rather than just facing the TV.
Why I Focus on Custom Elements
I lean into architectural details to define a space. I often incorporate:
- Custom Joinery: Built-ins that serve as a focal point, whether for books, family photos, or hidden storage.
- Spanish Architectural Cues: Arched openings and transitions that separate living areas without closing them off, maintaining a sense of openness.
- Texture & Layering: I mix jute rugs, rattan stools, and linen upholstery to build warmth. A space should feel collected, not showroom-perfect.
My Process
Every project starts with understanding your specific story. We don't just 'fill' a room; we arrange it to tell yours. We will look at your existing pieces—like a cherished print or a specific armchair—and build the layout around them. My goal is to ensure that when you walk in, the space feels like it has always belonged to you.
