About Our Community of Readers

It is rare to find a space where the goal isn't to keep children quiet, but to let them be exactly who they are. Our circle is a place where parents connect, old friends reunite, and children learn that stories are not just words on a page but experiences to be felt, run through, and shared. Whether it is a sunny Saturday or a rainy morning huddled under an umbrella, the focus is on the human connection we build together.

When we first started with a mat and a handful of books, we did not realize how quickly the circle would grow. This cluster celebrates the heart of our work: the people. From festival celebrations like Holi and Diwali to quiet mornings exploring books about friendship and courage, our community has become a space for real conversations and shared growth.

We believe in the power of interactive reading for kids that goes beyond passive listening. Our sessions often feature guest authors and artists who bring new perspectives on gender, culture, and nature. We invite children to participate, move, and play, which means sometimes the stories pause for a toddler's sprint or a bubble-blowing session. That is the beauty of it. These gatherings provide a unique way for families in Bengaluru to step away from screens and engage with children’s literature activities in an open-air environment.

Our community is inclusive, welcoming everyone from infants to grandparents. By joining us, you are not just attending an event; you are becoming part of a growing Saturday park workshop family that values kindness, diversity, and the simple joy of Kahaani Puraani. We are always looking for new stories to tell and new friends to meet, so come by, grab a spot on the mat, and let us make some memories together.

We are Mallika and the team behind Cubbon Tales. We started with a simple mat, a few props, and a desire to keep the joy of stories alive for our little ones. Now, we are a whole community sharing old tales and making up new ones together every single weekend.
