About Immersive Storytelling Workshops
How Our Story Circle Began
I rediscovered my love for stories when my son was born. What started with a mat, a few props, and my family’s encouragement in Cubbon Park has now become a little community that keeps the magic of kahaani purani (old stories) alive, while weaving in fresh tales every week.
What Happens at Our Workshops
Every weekend, you’ll find us under the trees at Cubbon Park. I don’t just read - I act out characters, bring in songs, and there’s always some movement. Kids join in, roaring like lions, twirling scarves, or just rolling around in the grass. Sometimes chaos, always fun.
- Sessions are outdoors, so we sit on mats, breathe in the fresh air, and let the stories unfold.
- Music, dance, and drama blend right into the tales.
- Sensory play - expect bubbles, sticks, leaves, and running about if the mood strikes.
- Each week’s theme is a new adventure, from classic stories to festivals and even topics like friendship or looking after nature.
Everyone’s Welcome
It’s not just for kids. Parents, grandparents, and friends become part of the circle. You can join in, relax, or just watch the little ones go wild. We sometimes have guest storytellers too, so there’s always a surprise.
The Real Deal
Some days, the story pauses for a meltdown or a toddler sprinting off. Sometimes, the best stories are the ones we make up on the spot. That’s just how it goes with outdoor family storytelling - a bit messy, always memorable.

My Story
Hey, we’re Cubbon Tales. Started with a mat, some props, my kid D’s nanny clicking blurry pics, and my mom hyping me up. It was just me, a bunch of books, and whoever wanted to listen. Some days it’s pure magic, other days, kids just want to chase sprinklers. But every Saturday, we show up in Cubbon Park, sharing stories - old ones, new ones, and sometimes, ones we make up on the spot. This is our happy place.
My Work
Interactive Storytelling in Cubbon Park - We bring stories alive for kids and adults with music, movement, art, craft, and play.
Our Vibe: Nature, Chaos, and Fun - Some days stories finish, sometimes kids just run wild. We go with the flow, always.
Stories with Heart and Culture - We pick tales about feelings, festivals, breaking gender stereotypes, and celebrate diversity.
Building a Storytelling Community - Everyone’s welcome - kids, parents, grown-ups. We often team up with guest artists and authors.
