Complete Home Transformations: Before and After

Witness the evolution of rigid structures into living, breathing spaces. We strip away the unnecessary to reveal modern volumes, abundant natural light, and a seamless connection with the outdoors.

The starting point for our Villa re:FORM project in Hyderabad. A standard suburban house with untapped potential for a modern redesign.

The completed Villa re:FORM. We introduced new volumes, cantilevered pergolas, and a material palette of timber and glass to create a sophisticated tropical modern home.

The raw concrete shell of the Timber Edge project. Our task was to give this rigid, unfinished structure a new architectural identity.

The finished Timber Edge residence. The transformation is defined by a new, layered facade featuring timber, projecting balconies, and refined detailing that completely alters its street presence.

The interior of Timber Edge during construction, showing the double-height space before the addition of finishes and our bespoke design elements.

The same double-height space, transformed into a light-filled dining area with a modern puja room. The design connects two levels and opens to the outdoors, creating a sense of volume and serenity.

About this collection

Renovation for us is not cosmetic; it is structural. We do not just finish a surface; we assess load-bearing capacities, rethink roof pitches, and often remove internal walls to radically improve natural light penetration and ventilation. Before we begin, we conduct a thorough architectural audit of the existing shell to determine if it can support bold additions like cantilevered balconies or open-plan living layouts that define our signature aesthetic.

Renovation is an act of architectural excavation. When we take on a project—whether it is a tired suburban home in Bengaluru or a rigid concrete shell elsewhere—we first strip the structure to its bones. Our goal is not merely to update the aesthetic but to fundamentally alter how the building inhabits its site.

We start with a thorough audit of the original framework. This allows us to determine where we can introduce structural expansions, such as cantilevered balconies, or where we must re-engineer the roof to accommodate a modern flat-profile design. We treat the facade as the building's dialogue with the street; by integrating natural materials like timber, exposed concrete, and system windows, we shift the building's identity from dated to contemporary.

Inside, we prioritize spatial volume. We remove non-load-bearing walls to facilitate cross-ventilation and open-plan living, ensuring that the indoors and outdoors feel connected. Our approach to these transformations includes:

  • Spatial Re-zoning: Eliminating unnecessary partitions to create fluid, light-filled living areas.
  • Facade Metamorphosis: Using weather-treated timber and stone to provide textural richness and privacy.
  • Bespoke Joinery: Custom wardrobes, floating staircases, and kitchen systems that maximize utility without cluttering the visual space.

Whether it is an outdated villa in Hyderabad or a legacy home in Chennai, we bring the same rigor to renovation as we do to new builds. If your home has good bones but feels stuck in the past, we are here to help you reimagine its potential.
