Ceramic Residency Program for Emerging Artists
We turn creative potential into professional practice. Our residency provides the dedicated space, materials, and mentorship you need to transform from hobbyist to serious ceramic artist.
Follow resident artist Hazel's first month with us. From initial concepts and sketching to exploring new forms with the extruder, this is the beginning of a journey of discovery and growth in our supportive studio environment.
Meet Hazel, who transitioned from graphic design to pottery. She explains why our residency was the perfect next step to level up her skills, offering a hub of creativity, constant learning, and the freedom to experiment with clay.
Collaboration is a vital part of our studio culture. In this series, one artist throws a form on the wheel, and another reinterprets it, showing how different creative minds can transform a single piece of clay.
Here, a classic wheel thrown form is deconstructed and given a new language. This collaborative project showcases how artists in our community inspire each other to explore new textures, shapes, and dimensions in their work.
This video captures the magic of artistic collaboration. A form made on the wheel by one artist is completely reshaped by another, inspired by music, resulting in a piece that is a true fusion of two creative visions.
Inspiration is everywhere at Clay Station. Whether it's the focus of creating an intricate sculpture, the rhythm of the pottery wheel, or learning a new casting technique, our studio is a space to spark your creativity.
The residency culminates in a showcase event, like "Hands That Hold Time." We are proud to have our exhibitions inaugurated by esteemed figures in the art world, such as artist and educator Roshan Sahi.
About this collection
Unlike open studio memberships, our residency is a structured commitment. You receive a monthly stipend, dedicated kiln time, and one-on-one mentorship from senior ceramicists, ensuring your final body of work is ready for its debut at a gallery like Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath.
Transitioning from making pieces for home to building a professional portfolio requires more than just access to a wheel. It demands a shift in mindset and technical discipline. Our residency program is built to bridge this gap by offering a fully supported environment. We handle the logistical pressures, such as material supply and kiln firing, allowing you to focus entirely on developing your unique visual language.
Infrastructure and Support
We provide designated studio space in Koramangala, ensuring you have uninterrupted access to professional-grade wheels and equipment. Whether you are experimenting with intricate hand-building or high-fire glaze techniques, the studio infrastructure is designed to accommodate serious production.
Mentorship and Community
You are not working in isolation. Our residents engage with senior ceramicists who offer constructive critique, helping you refine your forms and technical processes. This peer-to-peer and mentor-led environment is essential for troubleshooting complex firing schedules or mastering glaze chemistry.
The Final Showcase
Every residency concludes with a debut exhibition. This is where your process becomes public. We manage the logistics, from gallery bookings at venues like Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath to promotion, so you can present your work with confidence. This program is for those ready to commit, experiment, and transform their hunar into a professional career.
