Every piece has a journey from a lump of clay to a finished vessel. Step inside my studio to see how I shape, trim, and fire my stoneware creations.

Me, in my element. Working with clay is therapeutic for me. It’s a space where I can challenge myself, fuel my creativity, and lose myself in the process of making.

My place of war and peace. This is where I battle with the clay to center it, and where I find peace in shaping it into something beautiful.

Getting lost in the process. A few quiet moments of trimming a pot on the wheel, completely focused on the clay and the form.

Just some me-time with clay. This video shows me centering a large amount of stoneware clay and pulling up the walls to create a big planter.

A demonstration of throwing a large jar with 5 kilograms of clay. It requires a lot of strength and control, but it's so rewarding to create these big forms.

Throwing with larger amounts of clay requires adjustments in posture and technique. I'm still learning and practicing with every piece I make.

Testing out a new dark stoneware clay body for throwing bigger forms. I love how smooth and strong it feels on the wheel.

Just another practice session, turning a lump of recycled studio clay into a large, classic vase form. Practice is everything in pottery.

A slow, steady pull is the key to a well-centered pot. This video shows the process of throwing a tall vase, keeping my hands stable as I guide the clay upwards.

More practice with pulling tall cylinders. You can see how I use my hands to evenly apply pressure and create a consistent wall thickness.

About The Making Of: From Clay to Creation

When you see clay spinning on the wheel, it looks effortless, but the 'leather-hard' stage—where I carve and trim the excess clay—is where the real magic happens. This is the moment I refine the silhouette, carve the foot, and finally see the piece reveal its true form, moving from a rough lump to something that feels intentional and balanced.
