My Architectural Design Process
Architecture starts with a conversation and a pencil. My approach is simple: I design to deliver spaces that enhance your life, not just provide shelter.
Diagrams are essential tools I use to explain a design's logic to my clients. These simple sketches show the structural grid, the sequence of spaces, and the zoning of public versus private areas, making the architectural plan easy to understand.
Here I am with a physical model of a residential project. Models are a vital part of my design process, helping clients visualize the three-dimensional form and spatial quality of their future home long before construction begins.
This is a conceptual sketch for the 'Bollywood Tower,' an entry for an international competition. The design imagines a vertical street that embodies the 'Navarasa' or nine emotions of Indian aesthetics, showcasing my interest in theoretical and ambitious architecture.
This exploded axonometric diagram illustrates the distribution of hard surfaces versus soft green spaces across all levels of a home. It's a technical drawing that helps plan the integration of nature from the ground floor to the roof.
A colorful concept sketch for an upcoming project. I use these quick, expressive drawings in the early stages to explore the form and energy of a building before moving into more detailed plans.
Another early concept sketch, focusing on the dynamic, layered forms of a new structure. This is where the architectural idea begins to take its initial shape.
A site analysis sketch, where I overlay my initial design thoughts onto the land's topography. This helps me ensure the building responds thoughtfully to its specific site and natural features.
This is a prized possession: an axonometric sketch I drew 16 years ago for my first project at my first job. It reminds me of the foundational importance of hand-drawing in architecture.
A quick interior sketch exploring staircase designs. Sketching allows me to rapidly test ideas for key architectural features, figuring out how they will feel and function within the space.
About From Concept to Creation
You might see these sketches as just drawings, but they are how I solve problems before we ever break ground. When we sit down to discuss your home, I use these diagrams to show you exactly how the structure, the light, and the flow of your space will work. This keeps us on the same page from day one, so you understand the logic behind every design choice before construction begins.
How We Build Together
My practice is built on a simple mantra: Design to Delivery. Architecture is not just about producing a set of blueprints. It is about creating a connection between the people, the land, and the structure. Whether we are working on a compact urban home in Bengaluru or a large-scale community project, the process remains consistent and transparent.
The Sketching Foundation
Every project begins with my sketchbook. Hand-drawn sketches allow us to explore ideas rapidly. They are the most honest way to test form, scale, and energy. We do not jump into complex software until the vision is clear. These initial drawings are not just artistic exercises; they are the preliminary spatial plans that define how a home will breathe and where the light will fall.
The Role of Diagrams
I rely heavily on diagrams to communicate. A diagram breaks down the complexity of a project into understandable layers: structure, zoning of public and private areas, and circulation paths. When I share these with you, you aren't just an observer. You become a participant in the design. We talk through these diagrams together to ensure the layout fits your lifestyle and needs.
Site Supervision and Delivery
I believe my responsibility extends to the construction site. My design packages include scheduled site visits, where I coordinate with consultants and check for precision on everything from foundation casting to the detailing of signature screens. My goal is to ensure the final build matches the initial vision we sketched out together.
If you are planning a home that values natural light, biophilic elements, or efficient use of tight urban plots, I am here to walk you through that journey.
