Join My In-Person Yoga Workshops in Mumbai
Real sweat, real technique, and zero ego. Join me in Powai for hands-on guidance where we learn to fall, float, and build actual strength together.
A shot of students fully engaged during an arm balance workshop at the Svadhyaya studio in Powai. Everyone is focused on their own mat, but the collective energy is strong.
A student working on his Bakasana (Crow Pose) during the workshop. We focus on technique and drills that make these poses feel possible.
A student using a bolster as a prop to build confidence in her crow pose. Props are amazing tools for learning, and I encourage using them.
A student exploring a flying split variation (Eka Pada Koundinyasana). My workshops are for all levels, encouraging everyone to play with their limits.
Two students practicing side-by-side during the arm balance workshop. There's a great sense of shared effort and encouragement.
A happy, sweaty group of us after a weekend workshop. This is what it's all about: movement, mindfulness, and community.
About Join a Workshop: The Mumbai Vibe
You won't find perfect, social-media-ready poses here. You will find the work it takes to get there. My workshops are small, limited to 15 people, so I can personally spot your alignment, correct your wrist conditioning, and ensure you are using walls and blocks to safely learn, not just strain your joints.
Why In-Person?
Online videos are great, but sometimes you need eyes on you. In my Mumbai workshops, I am not teaching to a screen; I am watching you, adjusting your shoulders, and fixing the micro-movements that make the difference between a painful struggle and a successful float. We operate out of boutique studios like Svadhyaya in Powai, where we have the space and props to deconstruct difficult asanas properly.
What We Do
We don't chant and we don't rush. The sessions are intensive 2.5-hour blocks focused on the mechanics of 'Lift Off' postures like Crow, Crane, Pincha Mayurasana, and Headstands. We spend the first 45 to 60 minutes just on conditioning—wrist warm-ups, shoulder mobility, and core activation. If you cannot hold your own weight, you cannot balance, and I will make sure you build that strength first.
The 'Fall and Float' Philosophy
Most people fear inversions because they fear falling. I teach you the safe exit strategies before I ever let you try to balance. We use walls, we use blocks, and we use each other. If you are a beginner who thinks inversions are 'not for me,' you are exactly who I want to see. We grunt, we fall, we laugh, and we try again. My goal is for you to walk out knowing exactly what your body needs to do to achieve that pose, rather than just guessing and hoping for the best.
Charu
I’m Charu. I grew up with Mumbai’s chaos and learned that yoga isn't about making shapes—it's about fixing the disconnect between your mind and body. I’ll push you, call you out when you’re sloppy, and celebrate every damn win on the mat.
