Forget the perfect pose. Here, we fall, we learn, and we build the real strength needed to actually float.

Working on Pincha Mayurasana against the wall. This is a raw look at the process: trying, learning, and becoming more aware of my body, little by little.

Practicing scorpion pose variations in Pincha against the wall. The wall is your best friend when you're learning to control your backbend and find your balance point.

A black and white still of a funky Pincha variation. Exploring different leg positions helps you understand your center of gravity.

Continuing the Pincha flow. Each movement, like lifting one foot and then the other, is a step on a much longer journey of growth and self-discovery.

Another moment from the same Pincha sequence, capturing the concentration and physical effort required.

Extending one leg up in a Pincha variation. This challenges your stability and shoulder strength.

Bringing the legs into a tucked, crossed position in Pincha. This is an advanced variation that plays with balance in a new way.

This series shows the reality of practice: consistency and the fear of leaving the wall. Here, I'm walking my feet along the wall in Pincha, building confidence.

About Finding Your Float: Arm Balances & Pincha

You don't need to be a gymnast to start. In my sessions, we stop obsessing over the final 'pretty' pose and focus on the mechanics of falling. Whether it's Crow or Pincha, I teach you how to use the wall and props so you can practice without the constant fear of crashing. It’s about building the shoulder and core strength to hold yourself up, not just balancing for a second.

It’s Physics, Not Magic

Arm balances and Pincha Mayurasana look intimidating, but they aren't about being 'born flexible.' They are about weight distribution, shoulder stability, and core engagement. If you’ve been trying to 'jump' into these poses without success, you're likely missing the structural foundation. My workshops in Powai and Andheri focus on exactly that—deconstructing the pose so you understand how to use your muscles, not just your momentum.

Why Practice With Me?

  • Small Batches: My in-person workshops at Svadhyaya Yoga Studio in Powai are limited to 10-15 people. This isn't for numbers; it’s so I can physically spot you and fix your alignment. You can’t learn to lift if you don't know what ‘stacked’ feels like.
  • The Wall is Your Friend: We use walls for support to get over the fear of falling. Once you learn how to fall safely, the mental block disappears.
  • No Fluff: My online and in-person sessions are about biomechanics. We don't do unnecessary chanting. We do shoulder drills, wrist prep, and core conditioning.
  • Online Accessibility: If you can't make it to Mumbai, my online classes bring the same technique-heavy approach to your living room. We use what you have—a wall, a sofa, or books for blocks.

Whether you’re working on Crow Pose or trying to hold a steady Pincha, my goal is to get you comfortable with the process—the grunting, the falling, and eventually, the lift.

I’m Charu. I built my own practice from a place of chronic back pain and struggle, so I know exactly where you’re stuck. I don’t believe in showing off; I teach the raw technique of how to lift your body weight, safely.
