We provide critical medical intervention for injured and abandoned street animals across Bangalore. Every call matters.

A moment of rush hour traffic for a person can mean a lifetime of suffering for a street animal. Here, our vet performs a critical surgery on a dog with a severe leg injury from a road accident.

This dog came to us with a massive, maggot-infested wound that covered a large part of his head. The initial images are graphic, but they show the critical starting point of a long and difficult healing process.

Found abandoned with deep, maggot-filled wounds on his head, jaw, and legs, this Shih Tzu was too weak to even eat. Our team immediately stabilized him with IV fluids and began the intensive process of cleaning his infected wounds.

It took persistence to rescue this dog, who had a metal chain embedded deep in his neck. Our team carefully cut the chain and began treating the severe, infected wound it had caused.

This dog sustained an extensive laceration in a road accident. Our team immediately went to work, cleaning and suturing the wound to give her the best chance at recovery.

Another victim of a snare trap. This dog was found with a wire cutting deep into his paw tissue. We carefully removed the wire and cleaned the wound to prevent further infection and damage.

A reporter was led to this dog by the smell of her infected wound. Hidden away, she was suffering from a deep injury. Our team is shown trimming her matted hair and providing the urgent medical care she needed.

About this collection

When you arrive at our Yelahanka trauma centre, our team performs an immediate triage to assess for shock, fractures, or infections. We prioritize stabilization using IV fluids and pain management before determining the surgical path forward, so please provide us with as much history about the incident as possible upon arrival.

Our trauma care unit is the heart of what we do, and it is rarely quiet. We manage a high-intensity environment, often running over our 160-animal capacity to ensure that we never turn away a true emergency.

Our Medical Approach

Saving a life on the streets requires more than just good intentions. Our team focuses on a full-cycle recovery process:

  • Acute Stabilization: Addressing road accident trauma, snare trap injuries, and severe lacerations with immediate IV therapy and wound debridement.
  • Advanced Surgery: Our team performs complex procedures, including limb amputations and orthopedic repairs using stainless steel implants, when healing through natural methods isn't an option.
  • Intensive Rehabilitation: Recovery doesn't end with sutures. We utilize laser therapy for nerve regeneration, hydrotherapy for mobility, and specialized physiotherapy to get animals back on their feet.

The Reality of Rescue

We don't sugarcoat the work. Some days we face heartbreaking cases of abandonment or long-term neglect, and we often have to say "no" when our units are full. This is why we rely on community support—from the person who spots the injured dog to the volunteers who help with daily care.

If you see an animal in distress, time is the biggest factor. The faster we can start the triage process, the better the chances of recovery. We are here to fight for the ones who can't speak, but we need your eyes on the ground to find them.
