About Community Outreach & Education
Why We Do What We Do
Rescue is just the beginning for us. Real change comes when folks understand and care about the animals around them. At CARE, we’re always out there in Bangalore, trying to make kindness towards animals an everyday thing - not just something that happens inside our shelter.
What You’ll Find at CARE
- We run animal welfare education workshops with experts, so rescuers, foster families, and adopters know what it really takes to help streeties settle into new lives.
- Every year, we share responsible festival pet care tips (especially around Deepavali) to help everyone keep animals safe from loud sounds and stress.
- Our awareness drives talk about coexistence, street dog care, and the tough truth that sometimes we have to say “jaaga illa” (no space) when the shelter is full. It’s not easy, but we believe folks should know the reality.
- For schools, we create school animal empathy programs with hands-on visits. Kids meet our animals and see what kindness in action looks like.
- Companies and offices join us for shelter tours, team volunteering, and even help us with much-needed donations for medical gear.
How You Can Be Part of It
Get your hands dirty - literally! Volunteers pitch in with cleaning, feeding, or just giving our dogs and cats some love. We also host community events, art fundraisers, family days, and charity runs. Donating or celebrating a special day with us helps keep our 400+ animals looked after.
We aren’t perfect, but we’re honest. If you believe in small changes adding up, you’ll fit right in with us.

My Story
We are CARE. Life here starts with a phone call—sometimes it's 'ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ ಸರ್, ಹೇಳಿ?' (Hello sir, tell me?), and there's panic because an animal is hurt. We want to say yes every time, but with 175+ animals, sometimes we're just full, and that hurts. Some days are rough—abandoned dogs, kittens stuck, illegal wildlife trade. But then we see school kids learning kindness, shy dogs finding comfort, Foxie, adopted and sleeping like a princess. That’s why we keep going. We’re a community—rescuers, doctors, volunteers, adopters—believing every animal deserves a happy ending.
My Work
Rescue, Shelter & Adoption - We rescue animals, shelter them, and work for Indie dog adoption—always hoping for happy endings and second chances.
Trauma & Medical Care - Our trauma care for street animals covers surgeries, treatments, vaccinations, and neutering—making them whole again.
Community Events & Education - We host school animal education workshops, fundraisers, and teach kindness. It’s about building a caring community.
Advocacy & Awareness - We speak against illegal wildlife trade, campaign for animal rights, and bust myths—pushing for lasting change.
