Our Rescue, Recovery, and Adoption Work
From emergency rescues to the joy of forever homes, this is a look into our daily mission. We balance the heartbreak of the streets with the hope of second chances.
This is why we do what we do. Shadow, an Indie adopted from our shelter, showing how gentle and loving our local dogs are with even the smallest family members. All they need is a chance to prove it.
This is the reality of our daily work. The video starts with our ambulance on a rescue call and shows the critical condition many animals are in when they reach us. Our trauma care is their first step towards healing and a new life.
The journey of Phoenix, from being found discarded in a heap of garbage to becoming a happy, healthy dog. This transformation is a testament to what is possible with dedicated care and your support.
The moment it all becomes worth it. This is the day Foxie went home with her new family. Every adoption opens up a space at our shelter for another animal in need and creates a new, loving family.
Meet Bear, a beautiful 4.5-month-old girl with a heart full of hope. She is vaccinated, healthy, and waiting for a family to call her own. Could that family be yours?
Not all rescues are straightforward. This little kitten led our team on a two-hour chase up a tree, only to decide she'd come down on her own terms. It shows the patience and creative thinking our CARE Force team brings to every rescue.
We want to be transparent about our challenges. This video explains the heartbreaking reality of why we sometimes have to say "we are full". Our shelter is built for 160 animals but often houses over 175, and we can't risk overcrowding.
About this collection
We operate at over-capacity, housing 175+ animals in a space built for 160. Because we prioritize the health and safety of every resident, we sometimes have to say no to new intakes. This transparency keeps our trauma care effective, ensuring that every animal we do admit gets the individual attention they need to recover.
Our work in Bangalore is built on the belief that every animal deserves a second chance, regardless of their past. We are not a pet shop. We are a rescue and rehabilitation center, which means our primary focus is healing. When you see our work, you are seeing the result of intensive trauma care, surgery, and rehabilitation that gets our rescues ready for life beyond the shelter walls.
We focus heavily on Indie dogs because they are intelligent, resilient, and perfectly adapted to our local climate. Unlike breeds that struggle with our heat, these animals are built for our streets. Our adoption process is designed to protect them, which is why it is not instant. We require a conversation, a bit of screening, and a house check. This isn't to be difficult, but to ensure that the match between your lifestyle and the animal’s personality is sustainable for a lifetime.
Beyond adoption, we are a community-driven shelter. We run 24/7 rescue missions, provide emergency medical support for abandoned animals, and advocate for kindness. When you support us, you are not just adopting a pet; you are helping us maintain a trauma unit that stabilizes hundreds of injured animals every year. If you are ready to bring a dog or cat into your home, we encourage you to look at our available rescues. If you cannot adopt, consider our sponsorship programs for special needs residents who may never leave our care.
Charlie's Animal Rescue Centre
We are the team behind the helpline and the ones cleaning wounds in the trauma unit. Our days are spent between urgent rescue missions and the quiet joy of watching a dog find their forever home. We believe in the strength of Indie dogs and the power of second chances.
