About Community & Events
Our events are where the magic happens, but they are also serious work for us. When we host puppy yoga or a cafe adoption drive, it is not just for the photos. Each event helps us socialize our shyest residents, making them more adoptable, and provides a relaxed space for you to ask our team the real questions about what bringing an Indie dog into your life actually looks like.
We know the shelter can be an intimidating place, especially if you have never adopted before. That is why we take our pups out to cafes, parks, and community centers across Bangalore. These events act as a bridge between our shelter walls and a loving living room.
Socializing for Success
Many of our dogs arrive scared or under-socialized. Puppy yoga and reading sessions are not just cute photo ops; they are structured environments where our rescues learn that humans are safe and fun. Watching a shy puppy bloom after an hour of gentle interaction is exactly why we do this.
Connecting with Adopters
Not everyone is ready to visit our Yelahanka shelter to adopt. Adoption drives at local cafes give you a low-pressure environment to meet our residents. You can see their personalities in action, ask our volunteers questions about temperament, and understand the commitment of adopting an Indie before you sign up.
Funding the Mission
Events are often fundraisers too. Every ticket sold or coffee bought helps us cover the costs for the 175+ animals currently under our care. It is a community effort; partnerships with local businesses allow us to keep our rescue ambulance running and our trauma unit stocked with supplies.
