Featured Stories of Rescue and Recovery
Every dog here has a story, from survivors finding their strength to our happy pack living together. These are the moments that define what we do at Second Home.
This is the story of Jessica, a Golden Retriever with a heart of gold. After being used for breeding and left to die, she found her way to us. This video shows her incredible journey from being broken and scared to becoming a happy, playful, and trusting member of our family. Her resilience is a reminder to never give up on a dog.
Dosto, look at this and tell me our Indie dogs don't have discipline. Here you can see them all sitting calmly in a line, just waiting patiently. This is the special quality of Indies; they are so smart and well-behaved, you just have to give them a chance to show you.
Look at this innocent face. This little Indie puppy is waiting for a forever home where he can get all the love and give back even more. He is healthy, playful, and ready to become a part of your family.
Sometimes I wonder if leaving my corporate job was the right decision, but then I look around. Being surrounded by this much unconditional love gives my life purpose. This journey with my dogs has been worth every single moment.
This is what true friendship looks like. Here are Golu and Jessica, our senior Golden Retriever, proving that age is just a number when it comes to finding a best friend. They have a ten year age gap but are completely inseparable.
We are having an adoption drive for these beautiful souls who are all looking for a parivaar. Watch them play and run around, full of life and hope. Please share this with anyone you know who is looking to adopt a dog and give one of these bachhas a second home.
Even with a recovery cone on, this sweet boy can't hide his happy spirit. This picture shows the resilience of our rescue dogs. They go through so much but their capacity for joy and trust never fades.
About this collection
Adopting a rescue is not just about bringing a pet home, it is about understanding their past and their specific needs. Whether you are looking for a young puppy or a calm senior dog, I guide you through a thorough vetting process including home checks to ensure your home matches the dog's temperament and requirements for a permanent, loving life.
When you look through these stories, you see more than just photos. You see resilience. You see Jessica, who survived years of breeding to become a joyful member of our family. You see our Indies, who prove every single day that they are the most disciplined, loyal companions you could ever ask for. My goal at Second Home is simple: I want to find a real parivaar for every dog that comes under my care.
The Adoption Process
I am very selective about where these dogs go. This is not a shop, and these are not products. I need to know they are going to a safe, happy environment.
- Lifestyle Assessment: You will fill out a form so I can understand your daily routine and home setup.
- Matching: We chat about the specific dog’s history—whether they are a trauma survivor like Jessica or a playful Indie puppy.
- Home Checks: I do digital or physical checks to ensure your space is suitable for a dog.
Why Rescue?
Many people worry about adopting rescues because of the unknown, but that is exactly where the beauty lies. When a dog learns to trust you after being let down by humans, that bond is unbreakable. We have Labradors, Huskies, and Indies available based on current rescues, but I always encourage people to consider Indies. They are incredibly smart, adaptable to our climate, and have a special khoobi (quality) that you really have to experience to believe. If you are ready to open your heart, please reach out. We can talk about which of our bachhas would fit into your life.
Second Home
I am Prakash, and I left my corporate life to be a 'dog dad' to all these bachhas. My day revolves around them—feeding, grooming, and giving them the love they deserve. When you see our work, you are seeing a second chance at life for these dogs.
