A Day in the Life at Our Shelter
From the morning scramble of feeding time to the quiet afternoon naps of our senior residents, this is where our rescued family rests, heals, and grows.
The highlight of their day: lunchtime. Watch the excitement as our team prepares and serves meals to the hungry residents of our shelter.
Food is a mood. The difference between pre-lunch quiet time and post-lunch zoomies is clear. A full belly makes for a happy pup.
When you sponsor a day's food at CARE, you are helping us provide nourishing meals to hundreds of sick and injured animals, which is a vital part of their healing process.
A brazen daylight heist featuring our resident mischief-maker, Amy. She is smooth, athletic, and knows exactly how to get an extra snack.
Our seniors have their own "WeWork" space for important business, like napping. This cozy nook, donated by WeWork, is the perfect spot for them to relax.
Rainy weather just means more opportunities for warm cuddles inside. Our shelter animals know how to make the best of a gloomy day.
Our rescued donkey, Saanvi, popping by to remind everyone to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life, like a good piece of hay.
A classic Caturday moment. When you're not getting enough attention, you have to take matters into your own paws. Life in the cattery is never dull.
Will you be our Valentine? Our shelter animals are always ready to give unconditional love. We welcome visitors to come and share some love, any day of the year.
On behalf of all our shelter animals, the CARE Reception Committee wishes you a very Happy Deepavali. We invite you to celebrate with us at the shelter.
About Life at the Shelter
You can feel the shift in energy the moment our food trolleys roll out across the shelter. It goes from a collective hush of anticipation to pure, unadulterated zoomies once everyone has a full bowl. This daily rhythm is what keeps our 175+ residents going, and it is powered entirely by the support of people like you who choose to sponsor a meal.
Our shelter is a busy place, and no two days are the same. We function as a trauma centre, a rehabilitation facility, and for many of our permanent residents who cannot be released, a forever home. You might see our seniors lounging in the cozy nook donated by the kind folks at WeWork, or spot our resident mischief-maker Amy orchestrating a daylight snack heist.
These moments of joy are hard-won. Managing the logistics of feeding 300+ animals daily is a massive task that relies on community contributions. When you sponsor a day of feeding, you are covering the cost of fresh meals—rice, chicken, and vegetables—that help our sick and injured residents regain their strength.
We also celebrate life here. Whether it is a festive Diwali photoshoot with our dapper reception committee in bowties, or simply watching a rescued donkey named Saanvi enjoy a piece of hay, we believe in celebrating every win. If you want to see this energy for yourself, we welcome visitors to our Yelahanka campus. Come spend a few hours, share some love, and see the reality of what your support makes possible.
