Happy Tails: Our Adoption Stories
Every photo here tells the same story: a rescue that turned into a lifetime of love. See how our rescued Indies and cats are living their best lives today.
This is the day Sora's new life began. Adoption updates like these, showing our pups finding their families, are the most wholesome part of our work.
Just look at that happy face. This is Sora, now completely relaxed and at home with her new family. Seeing our rescued pups blossom like this is our greatest reward.
Sora cuddling with her new sibling. It warms our hearts to see our adopted animals forming such strong bonds in their new homes.
The ultimate sign of a happy, trusting dog: the full belly-up pose. Sora is clearly living her best life, and we couldn't be more thrilled for her.
Sweet dreams, Sora. From a nervous shelter pup to a dog sleeping soundly without a care in the world. This is the magic of adoption.
A quiet moment of love and companionship between Sora and her new furry brother. These are the connections that make a house a home.
Foxie, all cleaned up and looking dapper in her new bandana after a grooming session. Her family treats her like the princess she is.
About this collection
Adopting isn't just a transaction; it's a commitment. We don't just hand over a pet. Our process includes a mandatory counselor screening and a home check, like ensuring your balcony is safely netted, to make sure the transition is secure for both you and your new family member.
Rewriting their stories
When you decide to adopt an Indie in Bangalore, you aren't just getting a pet; you're gaining a loyal companion perfectly suited for our local climate. Our adoption unit is almost always full, and every dog or cat you see here has a past—some were found abandoned, others were injured. We work hard to rewrite those stories.
The Adoption Process
We aren't looking for quick placements. We are looking for forever homes. This means:
- Conversation: We talk to you to understand your lifestyle and match it with the right animal's energy levels.
- House Check: Safety is non-negotiable. We verify secure gates and balcony netting to prevent accidents.
- Health: Every adopted animal comes fully vaccinated, dewormed, and sterilized (or with a sterilization commitment for puppies and kittens).
Why Indies?
Indies are resilient, intelligent, and sturdy. Unlike many pure breeds that often struggle with our weather, our local dogs thrive here. When you browse these photos—like Sora, who went from a nervous shelter pup to a happy sleeper, or Foxie, our 'Indie Princess'—you're seeing the result of patience and a good match.
How to help
Adoption fees range from ₹500–₹2500, which barely covers the medical costs we incur for vaccinations, deworming, and surgeries. This contribution helps us keep the lights on and the food bowls full for the next rescue waiting at our gate. If you're ready to open your heart, come visit us in Yelahanka and meet your future family member.
Charlie's Animal Rescue Centre
We are CARE, a community of rescuers and volunteers working in Yelahanka. We believe in the power of second chances and the resilience of Indies, helping them find the loving homes they deserve.
