How We See Chess
We treat chess like a test of wits, not just a board game. Every move counts, and we've got a soft spot for helping you think through each one. Winning is cool, but what sticks with you is how much stronger your mind gets along the way.
What You Learn Beyond Moves

Who Can Join
Anyone with an itch for chess, really. We’ve got chess coaching for kids starting at age six, and adults are definitely welcome. If you’re brand new, our beginner chess lessons keep it simple. For those already playing, our chess strategy classes dig into middlegame and beyond. If you’re chasing that FIDE rating or prepping for tournaments, we push you harder.
How We Teach
- Sessions run for 60 minutes, packed with action
- Pick from group or individual classes - it’s your call
- Most folks do 8 classes a month, twice a week
Who’s Coaching You
Our team’s made up of FIDE-rated chess instructors who’ve been in the game for years. You’ll learn from folks like Hermon Dian Saldanha and Arvind Iyer, both serious competitors with loads of experience.
Where We Train
We’re flexible. You can learn chess online with us, or drop by our centers in Bangalore - Prestige Tranquility (Budigere Cross) and The Sunshine Library (Hoskote).

My Story
We’re Catch64 Chess Academy, and chess is kinda our heartbeat. Not just a game—more like a way of seeing the world, you know? Our coaches, Arvind and Ojas, they’ve played all over, but here it’s about building a family. Nothing beats watching a kid nail a tough puzzle or a girl smashing stereotypes as a #ChessQueen. Bangalore is home, but our real pride? Seeing students fall in love with those 64 squares.
