About Chess Tournament Organization
What We Do
At Catch64 Chess Academy, organizing chess tournaments is our thing. We set up events where you can really put your skills to the test - whether you’re a total newbie, a school kid, or someone who’s been playing for years. You’ll find everything from rapid chess competition in a buzzing hall to online chess battles you can join from home.
Who Can Play
We don’t just do one-size-fits-all. There are age-group chess events like U-6, U-8, U-10, U-12, U-15. There’s also the open category, where anybody can jump in and go head-to-head with experienced players. Plus, categories for girls, veterans, and special FIDE rating bands. No matter your background, there’s a spot for you.
How It Works
Our tournaments mostly run on the Swiss system - so you’ll get paired with players who are scoring similar to you as the rounds move on. We’re super strict about sticking to FIDE rules, so everyone gets a fair shot. Time controls are standard rapid formats, usually 15+5 or 20 minutes per player.
What You Get
Winners don’t just walk away with bragging rights. We’ve got cash prizes, trophies, medals, certificates, and even special awards like Best School Trophy. Everything is sorted - boards, clocks, the whole setup. You just show up and play.

My Story
We’re Catch64 Chess Academy, and chess is kinda our heartbeat. Not just a game—more like a way of seeing the world, you know? Our coaches, Arvind and Ojas, they’ve played all over, but here it’s about building a family. Nothing beats watching a kid nail a tough puzzle or a girl smashing stereotypes as a #ChessQueen. Bangalore is home, but our real pride? Seeing students fall in love with those 64 squares.
