Grappling and Jiu-Jitsu Sessions Using Ecological Dynamics
We do not believe in static drilling. Our grappling program focuses on live, representative sparring that builds actual fight intelligence, whether you train in the gi or no-gi.
A look inside our in-house jiu-jitsu tournament. My students are making a habit of hunting for submissions, which is a direct result of our ecologically driven training methods.
A glimpse from our "Wrestle-Jitsu" session. We seamlessly blend wrestling takedowns and control with jiu-jitsu submissions, creating well-rounded grapplers who are dangerous from any position.
A visit to "Scramble City" with one of my top students. These intense, fast-paced exchanges are where you sharpen your reactions and learn to thrive in chaotic situations.
When you see an opportunity for your favorite submission, you have to go for it. Here, after a tough round of defending against good frames, I finally find the opening for a D'arce choke.
During private training, we work with live resistance to learn action and reaction in real time. Here, we're working on takedowns and entries, focusing on representative goals for actual grappling.
We are a team of submission hunters. Our training is geared towards creating opportunities to finish the fight, and you can see that intention in every roll.
When you're on top, you stay on top. This video shows a tough Sunday round, focusing on maintaining top position, passing the guard, and controlling the opponent.
"Get comfortable being uncomfortable." This is a fundamental truth in grappling. We push ourselves to embrace the tough spots, because that's where real growth happens.
There are only two ways to solve a problem: stop dwelling, and start doing. On the mats, we are always doing, always problem-solving in live grappling scenarios.
About Grappling & Jiu-Jitsu Sessions
We do not rely on static repetition here. Whether you are working No-Gi submission grappling or Gi Jiu-Jitsu, you will engage in live problem-solving from the first minute of your session. You will fail, adapt, and refine your game against live resistance, ensuring the skills you build are actually functional when things get chaotic on the mats.
Our training methodology is rooted in ecological dynamics. This means we move away from the traditional, rote-memorization style of training—which often fails you the moment you are under real pressure—and instead use a constraints-led approach.
If we are working on guard passing or submission escapes, we set up specific scenarios with barriers and goals that force you to find your own solutions. You have to navigate these obstacles in real time, developing the reactions and instincts that define a skilled grappler.
Our program integrates:
- No-Gi Submission Grappling: A heavy focus on connection, dynamic guards, and relentless submission hunting.
- Wrestle-Jitsu: We blend wrestling takedowns with Jiu-Jitsu control to ensure you can dictate where the fight happens.
- Live Sparring: Every session includes live rounds where you test your problem-solving against various body types and skill levels.
Based at our HBR Layout facility, we maintain a raw, garage-style training environment. There is no air conditioning and no fluff here. You will sweat, you will feel uncomfortable, and you will get better. Whether you are a total beginner or an athlete prepping for a fight camp, the training is rigorous but inclusive. We have built a tribe here—no egos, just hard work and loyalty. If you are serious about becoming a complete martial artist, this is where you start.
