A collection of cherished moments and performances that define our journey through the Lucknow Gharana tradition and the evolution of our shishyas.

A treasured clip from the Parampara archives, featuring a dynamic group performance from years past. The energy and passion of our dancers have always been the hallmark of our productions.

A performance of 'Tirvat,' a complex rhythmic composition, from a past event. This piece showcases the sharp, precise footwork and synchronized movements of our senior dancers.

An archival performance of an 'Ektaal Tarana.' The Tarana is a staple of our repertoire, and this clip shows our students performing it with grace and energy.

A clip from a past performance of a choreography by Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj, showcasing a beautiful blend of individual expression and group coordination.

A solo performance from a book release event for 'Kathak Digdarshan.' Each step in Kathak is a journey of self-discovery, a principle we instill in all our students.

An archival clip demonstrating the agility and power of 'paran' compositions in Kathak, featuring a senior disciple of the gharana.

A modern interpretation of a 'Tarana,' performed as a trio. While rooted in tradition, we also explore contemporary presentations of classical compositions.

A duet from our modern 'Tarana' piece, showcasing the beautiful chemistry and synchronization between the dancers.

The artists receiving appreciation after the performance of our modern 'Tarana.' It is always an honor to share our creative explorations with an appreciative audience.

About From Our Archives

In this archive, we present recordings that go beyond mere performance—they are documents of our ongoing Sadhana (dedicated practice). You will see our Lucknow Gharana technique preserved across years, from foundational solo recitals to our complex ensemble productions. These clips serve as a reference for the rigorous training and traditional musical integrity we bring to every live stage performance today.

For us, this archive is not a museum; it is a repository of living knowledge. Every performance featured here, whether it is a complex Tarana, a rhythmic Tirvat, or a traditional Paran, has been choreographed to uphold the purity of the Lucknow Gharana.

We believe that classical dance is a discipline, not a product. When you view these archives, you are seeing the result of countless hours of Riyaaz, where movements are perfected and the Guru-Shishya relationship is tested on the manch (stage). We purposefully include footage of our students' performances, such as our Tarkash series, to demonstrate that our teaching method is about creating performers who can stand independently before an audience.

Key aspects of our archival repertoire:

  • Authentic Composition: No shortcuts. Every piece uses classical structure, adhering to the traditional format of Vandana, Nritta, and Bhaav.
  • Live Musical Integrity: You will notice in these clips that our performances are driven by live classical musicians. We maintain this standard for all our commissioned shows to ensure the dance feels alive.
  • Educational Legacy: These recordings are often used in our training to show students the evolution of expression and footwork over time.

If you are looking for an authentic Kathak production for your event—whether it is an intimate Baithak or a large-scale thematic ballet—these archives represent the standard of artistry you can expect from our ensemble.
