About Announcements & Media Mentions

You will see invitations to our Varshik Utsav, student Tarkash showcases, and media features from platforms like the Sangeet Natak Akademi. These are not merely event posters; they are markers of our sadhana (disciplined practice) coming to life on the manch (stage). When we share these announcements, we are inviting you to witness a tradition that is living, breathing, and continuously evolving through the deep taalim (training) of our shishyas.

The images shared here serve as a living record of the Birju Maharaj Parampara. Our work extends beyond the classroom; it finds its true expression when our students and we step onto the stage.

Varshik Utsav: Our Annual Offering

The Varshik Utsav is more than an annual show. It is the culmination of months of intense riyaaz (practice) and the moment where we present the purity of the Lucknow Gharana to a wider audience. Whether held at the Kamani Auditorium or other prestigious venues, these productions are designed to be immersive, featuring live orchestras and traditional choreographies that honor our lineage.

Tarkash: Nurturing the Future

The Tarkash series, meaning 'quiver of arrows,' is a platform we created specifically to give our students the experience of a solo performance. It is a rite of passage where young dancers learn to command the stage, connect with live musicians, and handle the pressure of a live audience. Seeing these announcements is seeing the growth of the next generation of Kathak artists.

Media and Cultural Recognition

We are grateful for the acknowledgment from bodies like the Sangeet Natak Akademi and various cultural festivals like the Meera Mahotsav. These mentions in publications like the Chittorgarh Bhaskar and others are not trophies for us; they are validations that our commitment to the classical, unadulterated form of Kathak resonates with audiences across India. We believe in performing wherever the audience values the depth of the art form, whether it is a grand theater or an intimate baithak.
