Monthly Foundation Course
Training Structure
- Schedule: 8 classes per month, held twice a week for 1 hour per session. Available offline in Noida or online via Zoom.
- Live Music: Classes feature a live Tabla player to teach rhythm (Laya) and beat (Taal) interaction instead of recorded audio.
- Curriculum: Focuses on posture (Ang Shudhi), footwork (Tatkaar), hand gestures (Hastak), and Teen Taal structure.
Certification & Batch
- Credentials: Dual certification from Birju Maharaj Parampara Institute and Pracheen Kala Kendra degree affiliation.
- Batch Size: Group training with 15 to 20 students to facilitate peer learning.
Additional Requirements
- One-time Fee: INR 2,000 registration charge applies at enrollment.
- Attire: Students must purchase specific Kurta-based uniforms and personal Ghungroos (ankle bells).
Advanced Performance Training
Advanced Technique
- Curriculum: Nuanced training in stylized gaits (Gat Nikas), complex mathematical footwork (Tihai), and emotive storytelling (Abhinaya).
- Stage Craft: Training on microphone usage for recitation (Padhant), lighting dynamics, and performing with a live orchestra.
Mentorship & Exposure
- Direct Tutelage: Regular correction and guidance from Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj and Smt. Ruby Mishra.
- Events: Eligibility for selection in the "Tarkash" solo festival to perform a full set with an ensemble.
- Progression: Pathway for students aspiring for formal Ganda Bandhan initiation.
Intensive Thematic Workshop
Workshop Format
- Duration: Consecutive training over 5 to 7 days depending on the specific event schedule.
- Intensity: High-impact sessions lasting 3 to 4 hours daily, significantly longer than standard weekly classes.
- Focus: Deep dive into single topics like Stamina building, 108 Chakkars, or Understanding Teen Taal.

Our Philosophy
Kathak is not just steps and spins for us. It’s a whole vichardhara (thought process). We carry forward the parampara (tradition) of Pandit Birju Maharaj ji, aiming to keep its shuddhta (purity) alive for the agli pusht (next generation). For me, dance is sadhana, not just another activity. Taalim here isn’t about ticking off a syllabus - it’s about becoming a true vessel for the art.
Learning Journey
Training is personal and rooted in Guru-Shishya Kathak mentorship. You begin by watching and absorbing (dekhya), then move to direct seekhya (learning). Ganda Bandhan tradition in Kathak isn’t just a ritual for us - it’s a promise to respect and carry the art responsibly. Real pariksha (test) happens on manch (stage), not in a classroom, when you dance solo with live musicians and face the audience.
What You’ll Learn
Classes cover the full range - Ang Shudhi (body conditioning), Kathak footwork training Lucknow style, all the technical nritta elements, and abhinay (expression). The Lucknow Gharana storytelling techniques run deep here, focusing on bhaav (emotion) and grace.
Training Formats
We run regular group classes (beginner to advanced), 6-month and 1-year certificate courses, plus workshops like our 5-day Teen Taal intensive. You can join us in Noida or online. Recordings help online students practice at home.
Performance & Growth
Students get to perform in our Varshik Utsav (annual festival) and Tarkash, a program for your first-ever solo stage preparation. Performing is part of learning here. If you want to experience the real Kathak journey, this is where it happens.

My Story
Namaskar, hum hain Birju Maharaj Parampara - Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj aur Smt. Ruby Mishra. Hum Kalka-Bindadin gharane ki aathvi peedhi hain, aur yeh parampara humare liye sirf dance nahi, ek jeevan paddhati hai. Kathak hamari dharohar hai, aur ab hamara uttaradayitva hai ki iski asli rooh aage badhe. Yahan certificate nahi, taalim aur riyaaz milta hai. Hum chahte hain ki shishya kala ko sirf seekhe nahi, jeeye bhi.
