About The Signature Floral Cupcake Baskets
The secret to these baskets isn't just the design, but the stability of the buttercream. I use a specific, slow-churned piping formula that holds its shape perfectly in Mumbai's humidity, so the roses, hydrangeas, and peonies look just as crisp when they arrive at your door as they do in these photos.
More Than Just a Cupcake
When I designed these floral baskets, I wanted to move away from standard gift boxes. I wanted something that acts as a centerpiece. The base is my signature egg-free Belgian chocolate sponge, which I keep moist and rich. I don't use dry, generic cake bases because I believe that even a decorative treat should be deeply satisfying to eat.
The Piping Process
Each flower is piped by hand. Whether it is a deep red rose or a soft lavender hydrangea, I focus on the color blending to get that multi-dimensional, realistic look. I use fresh Gypsophila (baby's breath) as organic filler to bridge the gaps between the cupcakes, which gives the entire arrangement that 'freshly picked' garden aesthetic.
