About Student Journeys & Testimonials
Coming to an ashram is a departure from your daily routine. Many of our students initially worry about the intensity of our 14-hour daily schedule, but they quickly find that the rhythm of farm-to-table meals and riverside practice creates a natural flow. You aren't just learning postures; you are unplugging from the digital world and stepping into a community that lives the philosophy we teach.
Our students come to Mysore from every corner of the globe, often seeking more than just a Yoga Alliance certification. They are looking for a reset. When you join our 200 or 300-hour programs, you leave behind the fast pace of city life to live in our eco-huts built from hollow clay bricks. This is a residential immersion.
As our graduates have shared, the community aspect often surprises newcomers. You arrive as strangers but bond quickly over morning meditation, shared meals from our organic farm, and the challenging anatomy and philosophy classes. It is common for students to arrive with personal injuries or emotional fatigue and find the Ayurveda sessions—like abhyanga and herbal treatments—provide the healing they needed.
What our students emphasize:
- Personal Growth: It is an intense, emotional journey that strips away distractions.
- Holistic Knowledge: You move beyond asana to understand anatomy, pranayama, and Ayurvedic principles.
- Real Connection: The digital detox policy forces you to reconnect with yourself and the people around you, not a screen.
Whether you are here for the 200-hour Hatha YTT or a specialized continuing education module, you will leave with practical tools. You aren't just memorizing theory; you are learning how to guide others through a safe, trauma-informed practice. If you are ready to stop talking about yoga and start living it, our doors are open.
