Architectural Exteriors & Façade Design
Your home's exterior is its first interaction with the world. We design facades that balance your privacy and aesthetic preferences with functional elements like sun shading, ventilation, and material durability.
The transformation of this 20-year-old house into a modern neoclassical residence involved a complete structural and aesthetic overhaul. The new facade features grand arches, a balanced composition, and integrated lighting to create a timeless presence.
This is the original structure before we began our transformation. Our goal was to reimagine its potential, opening up the layout and redesigning the facade to create a home suited for a modern lifestyle.
The Solheim House, a project we are incredibly proud of. The facade combines concrete textures with warm wooden screens and large glass windows, creating a layered and dynamic exterior that changes with the light.
A closer look at the facade of The Solheim House in Sector 108, Noida. The design journey for this home was focused on creating a fresh, modern aesthetic that stands out in its environment.
That surreal moment when a design becomes someone's reality. Driving by The Solheim House, you can see how the architectural elements like the cantilevered roof and screen systems come together to form a cohesive whole.
This render showcases our vision for a home that is both elevated and timeless. We focused on a harmony of grandeur and modern simplicity, using clean lines and tall openings to give the structure a light, elegant feel.
Another angle of the neoclassical concept, showing how the structure interacts with its surroundings. The strategic lighting design highlights the architectural volumes and details, creating a dramatic effect at dusk.
We designed this facade to be layered and balanced in every storey. The composed proportions have a contemporary edge, while the classical details provide a sense of enduring elegance.
By night, warm lighting washes over the soft beige exterior of this home. This technique highlights the cornices, recessed balconies, and vertical lines, casting a welcoming glow and emphasizing the building's form.
For this facade, we drew inspiration from classic arches and geometric patterns. The design creates a sense of harmony and balance, while modern proportions and materials give it a refined, contemporary character.
About Architectural Exteriors & Façade Design
A home's exterior needs to work as hard as its interior. We often start our facade process by analyzing the sun path and local wind patterns rather than just picking a visual style. For projects like the Solheim House, this meant layering wooden screens and vertical fins to filter light and protect your privacy without blocking airflow, ensuring the home remains comfortable throughout the day.
Beyond the First Impression
Many of our clients come to us with a specific look in mind—neoclassical, Japandi, or ultra-modern—but we believe a facade must be site-specific. An exterior design that works in one neighborhood might fail in another due to orientation, street noise, or moisture levels. Our process is rooted in technical reality: we study the site's orientation to determine where to place large glass openings versus solid masonry. This ensures your home stays naturally lit while reducing heat gain.
The Art of the Structural Retrofit
We don't only work on new builds. Transforming a 20-year-old house is often more complex than starting from scratch. Our renovation service involves a deep dive into the existing structure, auditing load-bearing capacity before we suggest opening up walls or adding double-height lobbies. We look for ways to modernize the skin of an old building, using contemporary materials like zinc cladding, HPL, or textured stone to give a dated structure a completely new identity without compromising its integrity.
Materiality and Craft
Architecture is tactile. Whether we are selecting Indian stones, planning the rhythm of a slatted gate, or deciding on the profile of an arch, we are concerned with how these materials weather over time. We frequently visit quarries and showrooms ourselves to handpick finishes, ensuring that the final execution matches the vision we promised. A facade is not just a render; it is a permanent mark on the landscape, and we treat it with that level of responsibility.
Axiom Design Studio
We are Aishwarya and Kunal of Axiom Design Studio. We do not just draft plans; we spend our time on-site, sweating the details of the facade to ensure the stone finishes and glass alignments are perfect. We believe a house should feel like a personal evolution, not a catalogue copy.
