Hands-On Yoga Adjustments & Personal Training
Transform your practice with real-time adjustments and personalized alignment coaching designed to keep you safe and help you progress steadily.
Using straps to achieve correct form in Pincha Mayurasana (Feathered Peacock Pose). I am providing support to ensure the student's shoulders and core are engaged correctly, building strength for the full inversion.
Here, I am assisting a student with a deep, wheel-assisted backbend. This hands-on support helps her relax into the stretch and safely increase spinal flexibility.
Guiding a student into a deeper expression of Eka Pada Rajakapotasana (One-Legged King Pigeon Pose). My support at her back and foot helps to open the chest and quadriceps safely.
A moment of achievement in Yoganidrasana (Yogic Sleep Pose). My gentle assistance helps the student comfortably settle into this complex forward bend, showcasing our supportive teaching style.
Working together to perfect the standing split (Urdhva Prasarita Eka Padasana). My support provides stability, allowing the student to focus on hip flexibility and balance.
A therapeutic adjustment to release tension in the neck and shoulders. Using a yoga chair, I guide the student into a passive backbend to improve posture and alleviate upper back stiffness.
An instructor provides careful assistance in a seated leg extension using a chair. This method helps improve hamstring flexibility while maintaining proper spinal alignment.
An instructor carefully spots a student practicing Sirsasana (Headstand). This ensures safety and builds confidence, which is crucial when learning inversions.
An instructor uses a wall and straps to help a student with a deep standing backbend. This technique provides stability and allows for a gradual, safe increase in flexibility.
Incorporating light weights to build strength in a modified side-angle pose. The instructor ensures correct form to engage the core and shoulder muscles effectively.
About Hands-On Adjustments & Personalized Guidance
In my sessions, props like yoga sticks, wheels, and blocks are not just for decoration. I use them as an extension of my hands to bridge the gap between where your body is today and the posture you are working toward. Whether I am spotting you in a headstand, using a strap to safely open your chest, or applying gentle acupressure to release a tight shoulder, these manual adjustments are about preventing injury while ensuring you get the full benefit of every breath.
Beyond the Mat
Many students come to me because they feel stuck in their practice. You might be watching videos online or attending large classes, but you never quite know if your shoulders are engaged correctly or if your back is arched safely. In my private sessions, we strip away the guesswork.
The Role of Prop-Assisted Alignment
I treat props as essential tools for growth. When I use a yoga stick to help you deepen a hamstring stretch or a metal chair to support your back in a restorative pose, I am looking for one thing: the optimal alignment for your specific anatomy. We do not use props to make the pose easier; we use them to make the pose effective. By stabilizing your body externally, I help you find the space to breathe deeper and hold the position longer, which is where true strength is built.
My Approach in Whitefield & Varthur
Whether you are training at my studio in AECS Layout or I am visiting your home in Whitefield, the quality of the adjustment remains the same. My process involves:
- Active Spotting: For inversions like Sirsasana or handstands, I am right there to provide physical support, which builds the mental confidence required to balance.
- Manual Correction: I use hands-on adjustments to gently nudge your hips, shoulders, or spine into better alignment.
- Therapeutic Integration: For students dealing with stiffness or pain, I incorporate acupressure and chair-based adjustments to relieve tension in the neck and upper back.
