About Creative Kids & Holiday Camps
I know it can be intimidating to start a new hobby, which is why I keep my batch sizes small, usually around 8 students. This means I can sit with each child individually, helping them navigate their sketches or paintings without ever rushing them through the process. We provide everything from high-quality paints to canvases, so you just need to bring your child and their enthusiasm.
For us at Art Voyage, art is a way to tell a story.... My workshops are designed to be a haven from school stress. Whether it is a holiday camp or a regular weekend class, the focus is always on the process rather than just the final result. I guide students through the basics of sketching, shading, and color theory, breaking complex subjects down into simple shapes that are easy for kids to follow.
Many parents ask me if their child needs prior experience, and my answer is always no. We start from scratch. We explore different mediums including watercolor, pencil sketching, and fun craft activities like decorating bookmarks or coasters. These hands-on projects help kids develop fine motor skills and patience.
During our holiday camps, we dive deeper into specific themes, allowing children to create a mini-portfolio of their work. The studio environment is quiet and focused, which helps kids concentrate and find a meditative calm in their drawing. I take pride in the fact that every child leaves with their own finished masterpiece, feeling proud and excited to show it off.
