About Clay Play for Young Minds
In these sessions, we leave the pressure of making 'perfect' pots at the door. Your child leads the creative journey, whether that means sculpting their favorite dinosaur, painting with wet clay, or simply finding peace in the texture of squishing and rolling. It is all about emotional expression and tactile play rather than technical skill.
Why 'Muddy Puddles'?
Clay is a powerful medium for children, not just for building shapes, but for regulating emotions and building confidence. Our 'Muddy Puddles' workshops are designed as sensory experiences. When a child focuses on the cool, grounding feel of wet clay between their fingers, they often find a sense of calm that is hard to achieve elsewhere.
What we do in a session
Each 60-minute session is child-led. We focus on activities that spark joy and curiosity, such as:
- Tactile Exploration: Rolling, squishing, and flattening to understand textures.
- Storytelling through Clay: Sculpting favorite animals—from dinosaurs to mythical sea creatures—to help children express their unique interests.
- Clay Painting: Using liquid clay (slip) to paint, which encourages free movement and sensory engagement.
Practical details
- Location: We host these sessions at our studio in HRBR Layout, Bengaluru.
- Approach: We provide a judgment-free environment suitable for all children, including those with sensory sensitivities or special needs.
- Outcome: The focus is entirely on the experience. While children often take home small artifacts, the primary goal is the sense of relaxation and accomplishment they feel during the creative process.
We provide all materials, including clay, tools, and aprons. All you need to bring is a child ready to get a little messy.
