Build your musical voice with us. Our classes focus on the essential ragas, swaras, and taalas, taught in a small group setting designed for beginners and intermediate learners alike.

This is the heart of what we do. Here in our Carnatic music class, young students learn the fundamentals of swaras and taalas with focus and joy. I guide them with the harmonium, creating a group learning environment where every child feels encouraged to find their voice.

Look at the concentration on these young faces. This is a typical weekend vocal class where children practice their scales together. Starting young is a wonderful way to build vocal confidence and a lifelong love for music.

Music is not just about singing, it's also about understanding the theory behind it. In this video, I'm explaining the concepts of Sapta Taalas to my students. We make learning the technical aspects of Carnatic music interactive and easy to grasp.

About this collection

We keep our music classes grounded—literally. You will sit on floor mats with a small group of 6-12 students, which helps maintain the focus needed for traditional posture and voice control. I play the harmonium live during every session, so you aren't just learning from recordings; you are hearing the notes corrected in real-time, which is how we build your confidence without the pressure of a rigid conservatory.

Our Approach to Classical Learning

Music is not just about hitting the right notes. It is about understanding the emotion, history, and discipline behind every composition. In our Carnatic foundation classes, we start with the basics—sruti alignment and swara exercises like Sarali Varisai. From there, we move slowly into complex ragas and the mechanics of taalas. We believe that rushing through the syllabus defeats the purpose, so we take our time with each student.

Why Group Sessions Work

Learning in a group creates a unique rhythm. You listen to others, understand how voices blend, and gain confidence by performing in front of your peers. This environment helps shy students find their voice. We keep our batches intimate, usually 6 to 12 students, ensuring that I can provide individual attention while fostering a sense of community.

Beyond the Classics

While we stay true to our Carnatic roots, we understand that music is also about expression. We balance our technical training with Sugama Sangeeta, Devara Naama, and popular Kannada film songs. This mix keeps the sessions engaging for both children and adults. Whether you want to master a specific composition for a family function or simply wish to enjoy the discipline of vocal training, we provide the space and the guidance to help you get there. Every student becomes eligible to perform at our annual Arnav Habba, giving you a chance to experience the stage in a fun, supportive setting.

I am Alaiah G K, and I have been teaching music for over seven years. I compose, I perform, and I definitely mess up on stage sometimes, so I keep the learning environment chill and open to your questions. My classes are about finding the joy in sound, not just hitting perfect notes on day one.
