About Indian Classical Vocals

We don't believe in keeping music restricted to the classroom. Our vocal training focuses on a balance between rigorous theory, such as learning scales and complex ragas, and practical stage time at our monthly open-mic nights, helping you build confidence from your very first performance.

Our curriculum for Indian Classical Vocals is designed for students who value structure and consistent progress. We teach both Hindustani and Carnatic vocal traditions, ensuring that learners grasp the essential theoretical and practical mechanics before moving to advanced compositions.

Our Training Approach

  • Foundational Learning: Beginners start with essential exercises such as sargams (scales) and geethams. This ensures you build the necessary pitch accuracy and voice control required for classical music.
  • Theory and Practice: We emphasize the mechanics behind the music. You will learn the notation, structure, and emotional nuances of specific ragas, ensuring you understand the 'why' behind every note.
  • Performance Readiness: Learning music in a vacuum is rarely effective. By incorporating monthly open-mic sessions, we provide a platform for students to practice their stage presence. This is where you test your Raga Yaman or a specific bhajan in front of an audience, preparing you for the real-world pressure of musical performance.
