Whether you are planning an intimate Baithak or a large-scale fusion concert, I bring a dedicated sound engineer to every event. This is vital for Tabla, where the deep bass of the Bayan and the high resonance of the Dayan need precise balancing to be felt properly by the audience. My sets are interactive, blending traditional Gharana compositions with personal storytelling that makes complex rhythms accessible to everyone in the room.
My live performances are built on the foundation of the six major Tabla Gharanas. When you book a classical solo, you get an authentic 90-minute experience that includes the recitation of 'Bols' (rhythmic syllables) and insights into the history of the compositions. This format is perfect for auditoriums or events where the audience wants to delve deep into the mathematics and soul of Indian classical music.
For events looking for a more narrative or dynamic energy, I offer conceptual shows like 'Ramayan on Tabla' or 'Shiv Shakti'. These aren't just concerts; they are audio-visual journeys where percussion narrates a story. I provide the background score, and we work with your team to integrate visuals on your LED wall or projector. If you are hosting a high-energy event or a festival, my all-female band, Stree Shakti, blends Hindustani, Carnatic, and Jazz elements for a powerful 75-90 minute set.
Since I am based in Mumbai but travel worldwide, I ensure all logistics are handled smoothly. For larger ensemble performances, I require a 3-hour pre-event sound check to ensure the PA system is balanced for a full live band mix. I am here to help you choose the right format—whether a quiet, spiritual offering or a vibrant, modern fusion show—that fits the mood of your gathering.
