About Jugalbandi: In Concert with Musical Masters

A true jugalbandi is not a contest but a conversation. When I perform with a fellow artist, my focus is on active listening, matching their tempo, and anticipating their rhythmic shifts. This requires deep familiarity with multiple gharanas and the flexibility to improvise while maintaining the integrity of the composition.
