About Professional Tabla Artist
Rhythm in My Roots
Tabla is in my blood. I started learning at age 10, shaped by the Kirana Gharana tradition and deeply trained in the Ajrara Gharana style under Ustad Akram Khan. For me, tabla isn't just about playing fast or loud - it's about bringing clarity and emotion, whether I'm on a big stage or in a cozy room.
What I Offer
- Hindustani tabla solo performance: I love presenting rare old compositions and powerful solos that bring out the true spirit of the instrument.
- Tabla accompaniment for Indian classical vocals and instruments like sitar, sarangi, and flute. Jugalbandi (duet jams) are a personal favorite - the back-and-forth energy on stage is something else.
- Fusion tabla artist for live bands: As part of 'Mausiqaar', I've mixed tabla with western genres, Sufi, folk, jazz, and rock, and even toured with international artists. It's all about pushing boundaries without losing the soul.
- I perform at private and corporate events, house concerts, and special gatherings, always tuning the music to suit the vibe.
Why I Play
Main toh yahi manta hoon ki asli mazaa tab hai jab sam milta hai, jab rhythm aur audience ek ho jaate hain (Honestly, the real magic is when the rhythm and audience connect on that 'sam', that arrival point). I bring full respect and commitment to every show—never missed a gig, always chasing that soulful moment.

My Story
Music has been my world since I saw Ustad Zakir Hussain on TV as a kid. I’m the 8th generation from Kirana Gharana, son of Ustad Islamuddin Khan. My tabla journey started at 10, first stage at 12, learning under Ustad Akram Khan. Guru ki roshni mein chalna hai (walk in the Guru’s light)—that’s my mantra. Words fall short, but my tabla speaks for me. Life’s a sweet song, so let’s play.
My Work
Tabla Performances & Collaborations - I play Ajrara Gharana tabla solo, accompany Indian classical, and join fusion or Sufi projects for concerts, festivals, and private house gigs.
My Musical Style - I mix pure classical with Sufi fusion tabla, blending tradition and western sounds. Clarity and rhythm are my thing.
Mausiqaar - My Band - With my Delhi fusion band Mausiqaar, we make music that’s heartfelt and energetic. We’re more like brothers than bandmates.
What Drives Me - I play to honour my gurus and the masters. When people cheer, it’s magic and keeps me going.
