About Live Tabla Performance
About My Tabla Journey
For me, Tabla is more than an instrument - it's my sadhana, my lifelong pursuit. Every beat is a way to connect with the rhythm of life. I aim to keep the purity of this art alive and make listeners feel the soul of the music.
My Roots and Style
I carry the legacy of the Delhi Gharana, the original school known for its detailed, melodious playing. As a disciple of Ustad Chhamma Khan, my performances come straight from the guru-shishya parampara. Expect the authentic Delhi Gharana Tabla style in every show.
What I Offer
- Tabla solo recital - I let the Tabla take center stage. Perfect for cultural fests or intimate gigs where you want the real depth of rhythm.
- Tabla accompaniment for classical music - Three decades of playing alongside top artists - from Sitar to Sarangi. The sawal-jawab (musical banter) can really lift the energy.
- Fusion Tabla ensemble - Percussion ensembles and fusion gigs, mixing traditions with jazz or global musicians. I also bring out rare sounds like Tabla Tarang performance sometimes.
My Repertoire
I play a wide range of Taals, from Teentaal to complex cycles like Rudrataal. Classical forms like Kayeda, Rela, Tukra, Paran are always part of my set.
No Borders in Music
Music knows no limits - sangeet kono seemana nai (music doesn't care for borders). I’ve played everywhere, from UNESCO halls to jazz festivals worldwide. Sometimes my senior disciples join me for big ensemble shows. My goal is always the same: connect everyone through the language of rhythm.

Sangeetika School of Music
My Story
Namaskar, we are Sangeetika School of Music. My tabla journey started with my guruji, Ustad Chhamma Khan, Delhi Gharana. Ishwar ki kripa hai (God’s grace), I’ve played from Russia to China, teaching what I learnt. In 2005, we started Sangeetika to pass on this legacy. Now, our students—some from Russia, Tanzania, some my own family—feel like one big family. Every child’s different, so we help them find their own beat.
