About Cultural & Mythological Epics
Every epic performance I create is carefully choreographed to match the rhythm of the story. I often bring in live music to sync with the sand art, which creates an incredibly emotional connection for the audience, especially for devotional or heritage-focused events.
My process starts with understanding the narrative you want to share. Whether it is a scene from the Ramayana for a festival, a devotional tribute to Lord Shiva, or historical depictions of our nation's past, I translate these heavy, complex emotions into fluid sand visuals.
The Performance Experience
To capture the grandeur of these epics, I use a high-definition overhead camera system that feeds directly to your venue's LED wall or projector. This ensures every guest, no matter where they are sitting, can watch the drawings shift and morph in real-time.
Bringing in Music
For these cultural themes, music is just as important as the art. I often perform with my husband, Saurabh, who provides live vocals or instrumental accompaniment. When we sync his music with my sand strokes, the show becomes a multisensory symphony. This works particularly well for themes like 'Gurupurab' or patriotic tributes, where the music carries the weight of the moment.
Practical Details
- Venue Requirements: All I need is a professional sound system for the audio and a high-quality projector or LED screen to display the art. I bring my own lightbox and camera equipment.
