Building champions starts with technique, not just playing. My junior development program focuses on footwork, discipline, and the right drills to build a strong foundation for kids who love the game.

Teaching them young. Here, one of my junior players is practicing his shots in a multi-shuttle drill, building a strong foundation for his game.

About this collection

For juniors, I do not believe in just letting them hit the shuttle. We start with grip, stance, and basic swing mechanics because bad habits picked up early are the hardest to break. You will see my students on the court doing shadow footwork and multi-shuttle drills long before they play their first competitive rally. It is about control first, then power.

Badminton needs discipline. My coaching for kids is not about fancy gear or memberships; it is about hard work on the court. We operate out of AKS Badminton Academy in Mayur Vihar Phase-III, where we have high-ceiling indoor courts with synthetic mats, so the weather never stops us from training.

My approach is simple: teach the technique correctly, then repeat it until it becomes muscle memory. We focus heavily on multi-shuttle feeding to correct arm rotation and wrist flexibility. When I tell a student, 'ek second, maarna' (wait a second, then hit), I am teaching them to read the shuttle and control their movement.

Beyond just skills, junior players need fitness. We mix in agility drills, hurdle jumps, and reaction sprints to ensure they are physically ready for the intensity of competitive play. My students are not just playing matches; they are training to compete. From Delhi state tournaments to national-level platforms, my kids learn how to win because they know how to prepare. We also hold regular internal match play to simulate tournament stress in a controlled environment. If your child is serious about the sport, they need a coach who is on the court with them, correcting their lunge and guiding their swing, not just standing on the sidelines.

I am A.K. Shandilya. Badminton is my jaan, not just a job. My academy is like a family where we focus on hard work and discipline, because that is how champs are made. I want to see my students win medals, and when they do, it feels like I am winning too.
