My Approach to Custom Portraits

I treat every portrait as a tribute. Whether you are looking for a realistic charcoal sketch of a spiritual leader or a vibrant color pencil portrait of a family member, my goal is to capture more than just a likeness. It is about the 'sukoon' (peace) in their expression and the energy they carry.

Choosing Your Medium

• Graphite & Charcoal: These are best for a timeless, classic look. I use 200gsm ivory paper and apply a matte fixative to ensure the charcoal stays smudge-free. This medium is perfect for capturing intense, moody expressions.
• Polychrome Color Pencils: For a lively, realistic finish, I use professional-grade wax-based pencils. Through a burnishing technique, I layer the colors until the paper grain disappears, creating a smooth, paint-like appearance. This is great for colorful traditional attire or vibrant portraits.

Size and Framing

I typically work on A4, A3, or A2 sizes depending on how much detail you want. If you are gifting the piece, I can arrange for a 1-inch synthetic wood frame with a glass front, so the portrait is ready to display the moment it reaches you. Everything is safely packed for shipping across India.
