Personalized Child as Deity Portraits: Custom Spiritual Art

byArtist AkhilShips across IndiaView full gallery

I transform your child’s photo into a unique, handmade portrait of a deity like Lord Krishna or Murugan. It is a special way to bring a spiritual vibe and a touch of art into your home.

Here is a great example of my custom deity portrait service. I transformed a child's photo into this vibrant artwork of Lord Murugan, complete with his peacock and Vel.

A custom A4 size color pencil sketch of a young boy dressed as Krishna, holding a pot of butter. I work from your photos to create these unique and personal spiritual portraits.

This custom portrait was created from a client's photo, turning their child into a beautiful piece of art. This was an A4 size commission delivered to a client in Odisha.

About this collection

To make these portraits work, I don't just copy a photo. We first chat about which deity feels right for your family, whether it's Krishna, Murugan, or someone else. I then create a digital collage to plan out the attire and background, ensuring the final piece matches the traditional details of the deity while keeping your child's features recognizable. It is a collaborative process, so be ready to share a few good reference photos.

How I Create Your Custom Deity Portrait

Turning your little one into a piece of divine art is more than just drawing; it is a dedicated creative process. I use professional-grade wax and oil-based pencils—like Polychromos—which allow me to layer colors deeply and get that paint-like finish without the mess. The paper I use is heavy 250gsm stock, which holds the pigments well and ensures your artwork doesn't fade over time.

The Process

  1. Consultation: You send me a clear photo of your child. We discuss the deity (Krishna, Murugan, or others) and the mood you want.
  2. Planning: I create a draft to ensure the posture and 'avatar' look natural.
  3. Artistry: This is where the work starts. I pay special attention to the jewelry, clothing, and traditional symbols like the peacock feather for Krishna or the Vel for Murugan. These metallic tones are rendered with specific pencils to catch the light.
  4. Finalizing: Once the sketch is complete, it is framed in premium synthetic wood—either gold or brown depending on what fits your home decor—and packed securely for shipping anywhere in India.

Why This Art Matters

People often ask me why I put so much energy into these pieces. For me, it is about 'sukoon' (peace). Drawing these portraits is like a prayer. When you hang this piece in your mandir or living room, my hope is that it brings that same feeling of faith and culture into your space. Whether it is for a birthday, a religious occasion, or just to have something meaningful, I take great pride in making sure every detail is captured with devotion.
