Hand-Drawn Family and Group Portrait Sketches
I turn your favorite family memories into lifelike portraits, even if you don't have one perfect group photo. From childhood milestones to big family reunions, let's keep everyone together on paper.
This large A1 size family portrait is bursting with color. I carefully drew each family member to capture their individual personalities while creating a harmonious group picture.
A beautiful family portrait of a mother with her children, created using graphite and charcoal on A3 paper. The black and white style emphasizes their expressions and the loving bond between them.
This A1 size colored pencil portrait shows a family seated together. I worked from their photo to create a realistic and warm drawing that they can cherish for years.
A happy family selfie turned into a beautiful A2 size graphite portrait. This drawing shows how I can capture the joy of a candid moment in a detailed sketch.
This vibrant A1 size family portrait was a special order for a client in Australia. I combined multiple photos to create this lively scene, making sure to capture the lush green background and each person's likeness.
Here, I combined three separate photos to create one A3 family portrait in black and white. This is a great way to get a portrait done even if you don't have a group photo.
A father and his child taking a selfie, recreated as an A3 colored pencil drawing. This portrait captures a modern and tender moment between a parent and their baby.
About this collection
Many people ask me, "Akhil, we don't have a single group photo with everyone together, can you still draw us?" The answer is yes. I can take separate photos of your parents, siblings, or grandparents and combine them into one seamless, realistic portrait. Whether it is for a birthday gift or a way to honor a loved one who could not be there, I carefully plan the composition so it looks natural, not forced.
Getting a group portrait right is all about the details. Since I draw by hand, I focus on lighting and skin textures to make sure everyone looks like they were standing in the same room. I handle 3+ subjects in sizes ranging from A3 to large-format A1, which makes a great centerpiece for your home.
My Process
I use high-quality graphite for a timeless, high-contrast look, or colored pencils if you want to capture the specific colors of traditional outfits or bright memories. You send the photos, we discuss the composition, and I get to work. I share updates during the process so you are involved from start to finish. No digital tricks, just 200gsm paper and a lot of focus. If you are looking to include a pet or merge photos from years apart, just let me know—making those adjustments is part of the work.
