A piece of you, literally. I hand-paint custom portraits using a small, sterile blood sample—a raw and deeply personal gift to celebrate your bond with a brother, sister, or friend.

A gift for "Anna" (elder brother). This video shows the client giving a blood sample and the resulting framed portrait, a powerful and personal gesture of brotherly love.

This video shows the creation of a dual portrait for two brothers or close friends. The process begins with the client giving a blood sample to create a shared piece of art.

The caption for this original video was "ಅಣ್ಣ ನಿಗೆ ರಕ್ತದ ಕಾಣಿಕೆ" (A gift of blood for brother). It shows a sister getting her blood drawn to create a surprise portrait for her brother.

This client traveled all the way from Chitradurga to my studio in Nelamangala for this portrait of his brother. It shows his dedication and the trust clients place in my work.

A blood portrait created for a best friend. The simple message "Best Friend" is written on the artwork, making it a clear and heartfelt tribute to their friendship.

This framed blood portrait of a young man has the word "Agraja" (meaning elder brother) written on it. It's a respectful and loving tribute, made even more special by the medium.

About Portraits for Siblings & Friends

When you order, I send you clear guidance on how to provide a 2ml blood sample safely. Whether you drop by my Nelamangala studio or courier the sample from elsewhere, every step—from handling to preservation—follows strict sterile standards. The portrait starts as a fresh crimson painting and naturally matures into a permanent, rich sepia tone over time.

The Process: Safe, Sterile, and Personal

I handle every portrait with medical-grade care. I use EDTA anticoagulant to prevent the blood from clotting during the painting process, ensuring smooth brushwork.

  • Collection: If you are in Bangalore, visit my Nelamangala studio for a quick, sterile collection. If you are outside Bangalore, I will guide you on how to courier a 2ml sample safely.
  • The Artwork: I paint on heavy-duty 180-200 GSM art paper. It starts as a bright crimson and, due to natural oxidation, settles into a permanent, deep sepia or rust shade. This is the nature of the medium and why it lasts.

Why a Blood Portrait?

People often ask for these as a 'raktada kaanike'—a gift of blood. It is a common request for siblings (Annas or Akkas) and best friends who want to memorialize their bond in a way that feels more tangible than a standard photo print.

Customization and Framing

I include basic calligraphy for names, dates, or messages like 'Agraja' (elder brother) or 'Best Friend'.

  • Standard (A4): Ideal for single-subject portraits or close-up couple sketches.
  • Masterpiece (A3): Recommended for two or more subjects or when you want more negative space for verses and messages.

All portraits come in a black synthetic frame with glass or acrylic protection, ready to be mounted on your wall. If you have a specific message or date you want included, let me know when you share your reference photo.
