Yoga is a work-in, not just a workout. From building the wrist strength needed for handstands to mastering the balance in Bakasana, I help you find focus while you find flight.

This video demonstrates the Wide Arm Headstand, an advanced variation of Sirsasana that requires significant shoulder stability and core control. I teach the progressions needed to build up to this level of strength and balance safely.

This sequence shows the transition from Bakasana (Crane Pose) to Eka Pada Bakasana (One-Legged Crane Pose). This progression challenges your balance and deepens the engagement of your core and arm muscles.

This video breaks down the entry into Bakasana, or Crane Pose. Notice the focus on shifting weight forward and lifting the core, which are the keys to finding flight in this fundamental arm balance.

Handstands on parallettes are a powerful way to build wrist strength and control. This video shows the controlled press up into a handstand, a skill that I teach through dedicated drills and conditioning.

Performing a headstand on the beach adds the challenge of an unstable surface, requiring intense focus and micro-adjustments. This video showcases the level of control that a consistent inversion practice can develop.

A handstand captured in the middle of a peaceful, natural path. Inversions like this are not just physical feats; they change your perspective and build mental resilience.

This video shows a dynamic flow incorporating an advanced arm balance, Koundinyasana. My classes often include these challenging transitions to build strength and confidence.

Here is a demonstration of a headstand flow, moving the legs through different positions while inverted. This drill improves core strength, balance, and overall control in Sirsasana.

About Advanced Inversions & Arm Balances

Most people rush straight into the pose, but the secret to a stable handstand or crane isn't just upper body power—it's learning how to stack your joints correctly. In my sessions, we stop focusing on the 'flying' part for a moment and work on the specific drills that build the wrist strength and core engagement you need, so you can stop falling and start holding.

Advanced inversions are often misunderstood as purely feats of strength. In reality, poses like Sirsasana (headstand) and Bakasana (crane) are about finding the center of gravity and building the confidence to be upside down. When we train together, we follow the principle of Kaizen: focus on getting 1% better every day. We don't skip steps.

My Approach to Inversions

We start with the foundation. Whether you are training for a handstand on the beach in Goa or refining your alignment in the studio, we work on the mechanics first.

  • Wrist & Shoulder Conditioning: Inversions demand healthy, mobile joints. We use specific drills, often incorporating parallettes or wall work, to ensure your foundation is rock solid before you ever lift your feet off the floor.
  • Core Engagement: You cannot balance if your core is passive. We focus on active engagement that supports the spine during inversions, preventing the common mistake of 'dumping' weight into the lower back.
  • Safe Progressions: Safety is non-negotiable. I use hands-on adjustments and spotter techniques to help you overcome the mental hurdle of being upside down. We move from foundational strength to dynamic transitions like Koundinyasana.

Why Practice With Me?

  • Biomechanical Focus: With my PhD and MSc background, I explain why a movement works. You won't just copy a pose; you will understand the anatomy behind it.
  • Versatility: You can practice in a climate-controlled studio in Miramar or experience the raw challenge of balancing on the sand. Beach yoga adds an extra layer of instability that forces you to engage your stabilizing muscles in a way a flat studio floor cannot.

In my sessions, the goal isn't the perfect photo of a headstand. The goal is to build mental resilience, improve your body awareness, and leave the mat feeling a little stronger than when you arrived.

I'm Rohit, and for me, yoga is a work-in, not just a workout. I’ve spent years deep-diving into the biomechanics of advanced flows, and I love helping my students find that sukoon (peace) even while holding a challenging handstand.
